The Era of Evil

In this story, you will meet a bunch of new people that I have created to adapt to Earthbound. You will meet 3 new people working together. When you meet these three people, do not be shocked. Also one more thing, some theories don't apply to this piece of Fan Fiction, so don't you dare go hate mailing me saying that Pokey is in Nowhere Islands in Mother 3! Also to remind you, this is basically the same theme as Mother 2/Earthbound. You will see some items and themes from Mothers 1 and 3.

Prologue:The Beginning of the Era of Evil

After defeating Giygas, Pokey had ran away to destroy another era. But, Pokey had thought he would have not been found by Ness and his friends. But he was right, but wrong. The three people known as the Holy Trio had found Pokey Minch. Just as we suspected, an Era of Hope, was becoming known as the Era of Evil.

The Era of Evil is an era which evil had reign, but I did not have to tell you that at all did I? (Author's Note: That really sounded better in my head) But anyway, time was being ripped apart. Time was becoming worse, and the future was not only ending, the present was as well.

"So what do we do? I mean, time is at stake in about I don't know, three decades later, and well, it is not a pretty sight," said a Gray-Cloaked Man

"Well, Horace, we know the cause of it, question is who do we get to destroy the source, or at least chase it off a bit?" said a White-Cloaked Man.

"You have a point there, we can't go into the future and change it back to the Era of Hope, Gabriel." said Horace.

"I don't know, Horace and Gabriel," said a Black-Cloaked Man "What about the Apple of Enlightment?"

"I checked, nothing about saving the Era of Hope, Lance." said Horace.

"What about the Chosen Four?"

"The Chosen Four?" Horace thought. "Lance, you are a genius!" Horace exclaimed.

Horace went to the computer screen with a green-outlined continental outline. He grabbed a stylus and pointed to the map. Evidently, the computer was showing Eagleland.

"Lance, you go to Winters. Gabriel, go to Dalaam. I will go to Twoson. We will all meet at Onett to go to Ness about this."

"Got it!" Lance and Gabriel said it at the same time.

Chapter 1: The Search for the Chosen Four

Chapter 1-1: The Search for Paula

Horace walked along around 1:00 pm EST (Eagleland Standard Time) finding the Polestar Preschool until he bumped into somebody familiar. What he didn't know, he was still seeing stars for a moment. The person that was somebody familiar was Lucky from the Runaway five.

"HEY! WATCH WHERE YOUR GOING!"

"Sorry, I was--" Horace saw color again. "Lucky?"

"Horace?" asked Lucky when he saw Horace.

"Hey! How is it going?"

"Great, anyway, The Runaway Five and I are going to the Chaos Theater."

Horace gave $10,000 to Lucky

"This is for?" asked Lucky.

"The Manager will cheat. Did you forget that the manager have cheated you at the theater a year ago?"

"He is arrested."

"Oh. But keep it."

"Ok. Well, see you later, alligator," yelled as he was leaving the scene.

That is not like Lucky to accept it. He thought as he hiked to Polestar Preschool

When he stumbled across at the Polestar Preschool. Order to find out before anything else happened, there was an alarm going off. It was loud as the New York traffic sounds multiplied 5 times! Geez, that is loud "STATE YOUR NAME!"

"Horace"

"Searching Criminal Data"

It was also scanning Horace's Fingerprints. Good thing he wasn't a criminal!

"Security checked. You are free to enter," said the security system.

"Thank you. Can I come to the yard at least?"

Paula's dad just came out "Just don't step in the lawn. Alright? I just mowed it yesterday!"

"Alright, but is there stepping stones?"

When Paula's Dad pressed a button some stepping appeared out of the ground. Horace was jumping around to actually go to the stepping stones. Horace was trying to actually keep his balance and not try to step on the lawn. He did not step on the lawn and went inside the house.

"So can you tell me what you are here for?" asked Mr. Polestar

"Paula. We have a little 'twist' in time."

"Oh. I see."

"No, I think you really--"

"Oh, I think I do. You see, I am the one who started the 'twist' in time.," said Mr. Polestar evilly

"You wouldn't!" said Horace. Then Horace saw a degree on the wall.

"Oh I would."

"Nice try."

"DARN IT! I thought I was going to get you that time!" exclaimed Mr. Polestar.

"So you are starting a career for acting?"

"Yeah! How did you know?"

"You have a degree for drama up on your wall."

"I guess that is true. Anyway, Paula is actually gone to Happy-Happy Village."

"You're kidding me?" Horace had asked.

Oh Mr. Polestar wasn't kidding. Horace knew he wasn't. By the way, since there is a very dark cave all you know to get to Happy-Happy Village. Horace by the way, is nytophobic, which also means scared of the dark. Horace went pale."You don't have a flashlight do you?" squeaked Horace.

"Yes, actually I do."

Mr. Polestar gave Horace a 600 volt flashlight. A very powerful flashlight may I add. It was also known as the Dark-Piercing Flashlight. Did I also ever told you that it goes all the way through the darkness?

"Thank you," whispered Horace.

"No Problem, just give it back when you are done with it."

"And One more thing?"

"Yes?"

"Would you mind if I took her to the furture?"

"Sure, why not?"

"Thanks again."

Before Mr. Polestar said your welcome, Horace left. He was walking around the neighborhood looking for the cave to Happy-Happy Village. He found it, turned on the flashlight, and saw at the end of the cave and some crystals shining through.

This is getting way crazy. Why the cave? Why the village? The flashlight ran out of power. Horace stood as a statue shaking to his shoes.

You are not scared of the dark, you are not scared of the dark. At that moment, Horace heard footsteps. He was still standing still. Although, he was feeling something weird. And he knew what it was.

Who is reading my mind? Paula?

"Yes?"

"Oh, thank goodness! I thought you were someone else."

"Nah, I was on my way back to the preschool. Would you like to join?"

"YES!" exclaimed Horace very excited. As they left together, Horace asked her a question.

"This is going to sound crazy, but would you like to do something for time and space?"

"Sure, depending on what it is."

"We found Pokey."

"Pokey? The same person that teamed with Giygas?"

"Yeah, that Pokey."

"Well then yes! But we have to ask my mother and father."

"Father yes, Mother, I have no Idea."

"Okay, she is at the tennis court at Happy-Happy Village."

"Tennis Court?" said Horace very puzzled

"You never heard of the tennis court?

"No." replied Horace.

"Now, I heard of a tennis court. Didn't heard of one in Happy-Happy Village. Anyway is the bridge still there?"

"Yes." Paula agreed

"Good!" said Horace. That way we can get there a lot quicker than usual.

Horace and Paula started walking to the bridge. When they got to the bridge they stopped. The bridge was destroyed. But Pokey in his vehicle was on the other side.

"HA HA! Now you won't be able to get to Happy-Happy Village!"

"POKEY!" Horace and Paula yelled together.

"By the way....you won't be able to stop me!"

Pokey disappeared. Before he did, he...well how should I put this...he let out some stinky exhaustion. Paula is holding her nose. But Horace isn't.

"You can't smell can you?" asked Paula

"Nope. I can't smell at all."

"For what reason?"

"I have no Idea. But we need to get somewhere by....OH! Board?" asked Horace excitedly.

"Board? Where are we going to get a board?"

"Right here."

He hold up an item similar SNES cartridge or Game Pak, whatever you want to call it!

"That." said Paula confused, "You must be kidding."

He wasn't kidding one bit. You see, Horace is an inventor. This was what he called it a SICS Pak a.k.a. a Super Item Calling System Pak. SO he pulled out an Item similar to the SNES. He inserted the pak into the item. Horace pushed a button, and a strange light blinded Paula. After the light disappeared, the SICS and it's Pak is gone! But an snowboard was floating on top of the area! The snowboard was shiny as if you were looking into a mirror. And it was Carpainter blue. like it was in 199X.

"Is this an illusion?" asked Paula staring at the board.

"Nope." Horace replied.

"This is real?" asked the confused Paula

"Yep"

"How do you ride it?" asked Paula

"How well can you control an SNES control?"

"Very well."

"Well. Get on!"

"Am I going to ride it?"

"No."

"Why? Is it because I am a girl?" asked Paula furiously.

"No." Paula and Horace got on. When Horace plugged in a SNES Controller into a SNES port. Horace pressed the A button and the snowboard started going inside another dark cave into Happy-Happy Village

"It would be easier if we used PSI Teleport!" said Paula very loudly

"You don't have it!"

"What do you mean?"

"I know you Paula! Only Ness and Poo have that!"

Paula knew that Horace was right. Paula did not have PSI Teleport.

"But don't you?"

"Yeah, but I never been to Happy-Happy Village!"

When they saw the light of Happy-Happy Village, the board was going to explode

"Get ready to Jump off!"

Horace counted down from three. When he said one they both jumped off.

"That was why I couldn't let you ride."

They went out of the cave into Happy-Happy Village. They saw the tennis court with Mrs. Polestar and Mr. Carpainter. By the way, the tennis court was grass green and was soft as moss on a stone. Horace and Paula had sat and watch. The Score was 45-30 (In English terms, Mrs. Polestar was winning because she was the server) So Mrs. Polestar, had scored and won the game.

"YES!" yelled Mrs. Polestar.

"Congratulations!" said Horace

"Horace! How are you?" asked Mrs. Polestar. "Ask away"

"Can we talk in private?"

"Sure."

Horace and Mrs. Polestar went away from Paula. They spoke. Mrs. Polestar had nodded her head.

"Thank you"

"No problem. But, just take care of her. She is the only child in the family"

"Will do."

Horace went to Paula and they both left using PSI Teleport ß.

Chapter 1-2: The Search for Jeff

Lance entered the gates of Snow Wood. As he was seen by Tony.

"Hello, Lance!"

"Hello, Tony! How are you and the students these days?"

"Great! Just it has been not the same since Jeff graduated."

Did Lance just heard what he just thought he heard? Jeff graduated from Snow Wood?

"Yeah, he graduated early."

"Where is he now?" asked Lance very strictly

"Right now?" asked Tony.

Tony was confused. This was not the same Lance that he knew.

"Yeah, right now."

"Why?"

"Tony, Where is he?"

"He is in with his father."

"Tony. Thank you."

Lance left in a hurry. He used PSI Teleport ß. He was in front of Dr. Andonuts' lab. Dr. Andonuts came through the doorway.

"Lance. Long time no see."

"Yes, it has been a long time. I hate being short with you, but where is Jeff?"

"Jeff is inside Stonehenge."

"STONEHENGE?" exclaimed Lance

"Yeah, now it is my lab!"

"Great just great! Time is in trouble!"

"What?"

"Time is in trouble. and--

A ring came from Lance's phone. Lance put the phone up to his ear

"Hello?"

"Lance we are in trouble. I just informed Gabriel. We need to hurry!"

It was Horace.

"Got it. But what is going on now?"

"Pokey just ranged from 299X to 298X"

"What?"

"Yeah, Paula is looking at the timeline as we speak. And so the other HQ members."

"Got it!"

"BUT HURRY! We are running out of time! End of line."

There was a dial tone after that. You see, End of line is code for....I think you already know. Anyway, back to the story

"So Jeff is in the Stonehenge lab." said Dr. Andonuts again.

"Thank you." said Lance. As he ran to Andonut's lab.

"Your---"

Before Dr. Andonuts said welcome, Lance ran out the door. Lance went into the Stonehenge. Looking and yelling for Jeff. Someone heard the call, yet it was not Jeff. It was someone else.

"Lance." It was hissing voice. Sounded like a hissing from a cat.

"Who is there? I am prepared like a LEP from Artemis Fowl!"

"What am I?" questioned the voice.

"Yes. What are you?"

Lance suddenly stopped. He casted PK Flash Y, (by the way, just in case you haven't played any of the Mother series: this is the symbol for gamma) and saw the person who was speaking to him. It was an Giant Cricket with giant scythe hands, just drooling with a white, mucusy slime. He was in a offense stance over Lance

"I am known asssss Cantisssss."

"Cantis. Who are yo---"

Before he spoke another word, he heard a weird humming sound. Lance turned around to find the source of the humming sound.

"What is that?"

When he turned around. Cantis was gone. But he saw Jeff

"Jeff?" asked Lance. He started to read his mind.

Jeff nodded his head. Lance got a message from his mind saying: I tricked him.

"Nice try."

"Nice try for what?"

"Cantis, I know it is you."

"How do you know it is me?"

"Read your mind." said Lance

"For real?"

"For real. This time, I know it is you"

"Okay, now, take THISSSSSSS!"

Cantis transformed to his original self. Ready to cut Lance in two halves

"PSI Teleportee 2"

"Wha--?"

Cantis starts spinning around and goes up.

"That never gets old" snickered Lance and as he did his victory dance (which was Wess's Dance). Although, Jeff was looking at him weird.

"Ummm, hi Lance."

Lance stopped dancing for hearing Jeff. When he turned, Lance saw Jeff, although Lance's face was beet red.

"Jeff!" Lance yells for Jeff with a following nervous chuckle.

"So, what were you doing?"

"Celebrating. Don't ask what though"

"Okay. So, what are you here for?" Jeff asked

"Okay. Pokey is back."

"POKEY? Ness's friend?"

"Yeah and the cosmic destroyer's little assistant as well."

"I am in, IF that is what you are asking for."

"Certainly is!"

"Well, let's ask my father."

"Okay."

So they went out of Stonehenge and saw Dr. Andonuts again. He was, let's just say, red in the face. Ready to shout really really loud. Altough he did was about to pull his top. big time. Except his face was blue, not red.

"NO!"

"No what?" asked the confused Lance

"WHY DID YOU NOT TELL ME THIS!"

"Nerve Calmer 4," Lance called out as he pulled out a bottle of nerve calmer.

Lance gave it to Dr. Andonuts. Dr. Andonuts drank it a bit and gave it back to Lance. He was calmer than a caterpillar in a cocoon.

"Thank you. I needed that. Also, I saw a bug coming out. That does that mean--"

"Yeah, he sent by Pokey."

"Not that. Can my son go and help you fight this evil?"

"With your permission."

"Yes. He can go."

"Thank you."

Lance casted PSI Teleport ß with Jeff.

Chapter 1-3: The Search for Poo

Gabriel was looking for Dalaam, evidently forgot how to get there. Although he heard something from the hotel. A high pitched scream. So he ran to the hotel to the scene of the crime. He entered the hotel to find a robbery in scene. What he saw was a camera.

"Excuse me."

"No problem," said the camera man. "We need someone in the rescue"

"Excuse me?"

"Ummm, well. We are filming a movie. And we need an actor."

"Okay, but I can't do it."

"Why?"

Gabriel told the entire story. After he told it, the cameraman was shocked. Everyone was indeed shocked.

"So, I need to find the two of the Chosen Four."

"How do I know this is all another production of yours?"

Gabriel held his video phone up. Making sure everyone in the room see the time line he held it up against the upper wall paper. Half of it was dingy gray, half of it was 24-karat gold color.

"See what I mean? This is becoming a catastrophe!"

The director thought a lot about what Gabriel said. The gray line was increasing. The gold line was disappearing. He was out of it.

"You have to teleport to get to Dalaam."

"Okay, thanks." Mayhem said quickly while leaving the door quickly.

Mayhem casted PSI Teleport ß to Dalaam. Causing him some motion sickness.

"Here." A Dalaamese woman gave a bag to Gabriel. As he lost his breakfast inside that bag.

He thanked the woman as he was trying to get rid of the taste. He tried to say something, he felt something odd.

"Gabriellll." He heard his name calling in a hissy voice. Gabriel looked everywhere for the source of the voice

"Is something the matter?" questioned the worrying woman

"No, not at all," lied Gabriel as he saw Poo walking by. "I have got to go."

Gabriel left in a hurry following Poo. He saw Poo going climbing to the Place of Mu. Gabriel thought that if going to Mu twice, he was looking for power. So he read his mind. Poo was not looking for power. He lost his skills in Psionics and Psychokinetics. So Gabriel waited, hearing screams from above talking to himself once in a while, practicing his Chakram moves, you get the idea of boredom and waiting. But when Gabriel saw Poo climbing down the rope, he waited to he got to the last ladder.

"Hello, Poo."

"Hello, Gabriel. It is a pleasure to see you."

"Yes it is."

Did I forget to mention that Gabriel can see ghosts from time to time?

"Hello, Gabriel," said an old man standing beside Poo.

"Hello, sir."

"I see what you are here for."

"Why is he here, Grandfather?"

"To ask you permission about something," spoke Poo's Grandfather.

"Yeah, about that," stated Gabriel. "We need your help to stop the Era of Evil going to this time."

"The Era of Evil? It is coming?" asked Poo.

"Yes."

"Well. I guess I can't help but agree to your permit," stated the prince.

"GOOD! Because, no time can be wasted!" explained Gabriel.

"Good luck to all of you." said the ghostly man as he disappeared.

Poo used PSI Teleport ß. Although, when he spinned, Gabriel got a little green.

Chapter 1-4: The Search for Ness

As they had finished Horace, Lance and Gabriel appeared in front of Ness's House and Gabriel just again lost his dinner from last night, inside his own paper bag.

"Again, you promised not to do PSI Teleport ß." Gabriel while yelling at Horace.

"Sorry, I forgot" apologized Horace.

"Well next time, you are getting over the head."

Horace laughed. Gabriel didn't. Horace knocked three times on the door. Tracy answered the knock.

"I you are looking for Ness, he isn't here," Tracy stated.

"Where is he?" Lance asked.

"At the Arcade in town," Tracy responded

"Thanks, Tracy."

The Holy Trio left in a hurry, stopped a few times to get rid of the road blocks (you know the enemies in the Mother 2 world). They got to town, going to the Arcade, went inside in order to find out that Ness, was not there. Although a bunch of other teens were there.

"Went to the Town Hall." everyone said

"Thanks."

The Holy Trio got outside.

"How does everyone know, that we are looking for Ness?" Horace asked.

"I have no idea. Although I see him coming out of Town hall right now." Gabriel stated.

They ran to Ness, evidently, he disappeared.

"What the heck? Why in the name of Mario, is he running away from us?" asked Horace

"Mario?" Lance asked.

"What, it is either that or--"

"NESS!" Gabriel pointed at the Pizzeria.

Ness bolted to his house.

Horace read his mind. Why is everyone after me?

"STOOOOOOOOP!" cried someone.

"What?"

There was a simple Safe Capsule heading up in the sky, and falling.

"Is that a--?" Lance asked.

"Yeah."

The capsule went down, making a safe landing. A door opened and a boy came out.

"Chris?" surprised Horace.

"Oh. Greetings to the Holy Trio," greeted Chris

"Greetings to you Chris," greeted the Holy Trio

"Why are you guys in Eagleland?"

"Looking for Ness." said Lance

"Let me guess, The Era of Evil is coming?"

"Yeah how did you know?" asked

"I sent an Email to you a few weeks ago. You did not get it did you?"

"You did?"

"Ya I did. You didn't check your mail did you?"

"No, we didn't," said Horace.

Chris sighed. He could have said "You were in a rush weren't you?" or "When did you find out?". But no he didn't. But he was very patient with the Holy Trio. Yet he has to go back to his Model of the Absolutely Safe Capsule vehicle! So he did, with saying a friendly good bye.

Then the capsule disappeared. Horace found Ness's footprints. Horace started to ran and follow the footprints. Gabriel and Lance looked at each other, turn back to then ran after Horace. The footprints lead to Ness's House. The Holy Trio had stopped there. So they knocked the door softly three times. Ness answered this time, but talking in different accent, a squeaky voice, this time. "If you are looking for Ness, he is not here."

"You can try all you want Ness. We all know its you." said the Holy Trio

"Did you say all?" said Ness nervously

"It is just the three of us," Gabriel said calmly.

Ness looked around. Not only did he see the Holy Trio, but he also saw someone else by Gabriel. Gabriel looked at the direction Ness was looking in. Gabriel saw a man 7 ft tall. Gabriel looked up

"Does anybody see--?" Gabriel asked

Horace looked around. Horace saw nothing.

"How come you can see ghosts and I can't?" Horace asked and yelled at the same time.

The ghost mouthed "You will be missed for a long time, Gabriel." and disappeared.

"So what did it say?"

"Nothing. I didn't interpret it." Gabriel lied.

The Holy Trio was invited inside and sat down on the chairs. Tracy and Ness's Mother sated down the couch next to the chair.

"So what is going on?"

"Do you remember Pokey?"

Just when Horace said that somebody was knocking on the door. Tracy got up and answered. It was Picky telling worst news.

"I just saw Pokey!"

"Pokey?" Ness asked in confusion.

"It's a real funny story actually," chuckled Horace.

Pokey lifted Picky as he was getting close to Ness's house, traveling inside his spyder-vehicle. "You think that Horace is going to help you?" As he made Pickey disappeared after there was a cloud of smoke.

"You know my name?" Horace asked in shock.

"How do you think?" Pokey said sarcastically.

Horace ran around behind the spyder-vehicle. "The Future."

While the Spyder-Vehicle was slowly turning, Gabriel ran to Horace his running shoes. "Man, I love these shoes."

Ness used PSI Teleport α to run. Pokey successfully turned around to the three behind him. Lance used one of his Made-You-Looks and threw it to the left. Making Pokey turn. Lance ran around the opposite side and used PSI Teleport ß. Gabriel's face turned green when they started spinning around
