CHRISTMAS AT THE ZOO Location? The zoo. Time? About 11. Date? December 24th. Situation? The tiger had said to the alligator that Christmas was almost here and that he wanted a big present and a big party. What kind of present? As long as it was big and expensive it didn't really matter. What kind of party? As long as it was big and expensive it didn't really matter. How did the alligator respond to this? By decreeing to himself that if a present and a party the tiger wants, a present and a party the tiger shall get. What happened after he had decided that? He started by clambering out of the enclosure he was in. This was easy as the zoo administration had not bothered to improve the living conditions for the animals since that time they all got out and started attacking anyone that got too close. Where did he go to from there? The hyena enclosure. Why? To ask them if they would like to be invited over for dinner at the tiger enclosure come tomorrow. What did they say back? That the elephants had already invited them over to their enclosure for dinner tomorrow. What did the crocodile do next? He asked the gorillas if they'd like to be invited over for dinner at the tiger enclosure tomorrow. What did the gorillas say? Sure, we've got nothing better to do. What did the alligator say to what the gorillas said? Great, see you there, and bring your own wine. What happened then? The alligator turned his thoughts to those of presents. More detail? Where to find them. What were the results of his thoughts? If you want presents, you need to go to the big city. So? He made his way outside by simply using his powerful tail to smash the front gates to the zoo down. Then? He began to make his way towards the big city. How did people respond to the sight of him? By screaming and climbing up the nearest tree. Were there exceptions? Only one. Who was that? A hippie-type person. What did he do instead of running away? He gave the alligator one of those white and red striped sugar canes and told it merry Xmas. Then? He walked into a river by accident. What next? The alligator arrived in town. What did he do there? First off, he went for a burger. Do burger shops allow alligators in their premises? No, as he was soon to find out. What happened after that? He went to the department store. Do department stores allow alligators in their premises? No, but he didn't know this, as the people that ran the store were all somewhat on edge because of the last-minute rush for presents there always is, so they just treated him like any other customer. What did he buy in the department store? A plush sheep made out of real sheep fleece and gold. Why? Because it was expensive and valuable and it looked like something the tiger would like. How did he pay for it? The employees were so frazzled by all the aforementioned last minute wheeling and dealing that they let him have it for free. Giftwrapping? They did that for free as well. Is that it? Not yet. What else happened? By the time the alligator got back to the zoo, it had just become December 25. The tiger, being a punctual sort, demanded his present and his party instantly. It was about that time that the gorillas, also being punctual sorts, arrived for the party. Looking at his large gold sheep, the tiger was overcome with a large number of emotions too cliché to write about here. Basically all you need to know is that the tiger, alligator, and the gorillas all had a jolly good time, while the hyenas just sat in the elephant's enclosure counting the number of segments that compromise a centipede's body and wishing that they'd gone to the tiger's party instead. So? They did. But the elephants simply continued counting the centipede's body segments. They were boring like that.
