Chapter 14: The Star Disease
Rimia Lageu and General Naiot were in a hospital, waiting for the results on what happened to Nem Star. A Starmen walked up to them. She did not have the triangular mark on his left chest like General Naiot and Rimia had. She had a red cross on her left chest, proof of her being a medical doctor for the Starmen.

"Zenhai Naiot, we have results on Nem Star. He's not breathing, and his heart is not beating."

Rimia bent over and started crying. General Naiot patted her on the back to try to calm her.

"So, he's dead…"

"Not entirely."

Rimia stopped crying.

"Nem Star still has psychokinetic energy pulsing through him. Also, even though his heart is not beating, blood is still moving in his body."

Rimia walked to the doctor.

"So…He's still alive?"

"He's on the brink of death, but we're acting swiftly to revive him right now."

Rimia suddenly hugged the doctor.

"Oh, thank you!"

"Rimia, let the doctor continue her work."

Rimia sat back down next to General Naiot. The doctor walked back into the operating room.

"PK THUNDER!"

Electrical sounds came out of the operating room. The doctor walked out of the operating room once again and talked to Rimia and General Naiot.

"Zenhai Naiot, Nem Star has regained consciousness. He's alive."

Hearing this made Rimia break into tears once again. She was not upset. She was overjoyed. Rimia ran into the operating room to see Nem. He was not wearing his helmet. For the second time, Rimia saw Nem's scar across the top of his head. A doctor gave Nem a cup of water that was steaming.

"Drink this."

Nem took the cup of boiling water and drank it. He let out a hot sigh at the end.

"Doctor, what did that do for me?"

"It helped the beating of your heart stay sustained."

The doctors in the room noticed Rimia.

"You'll be fine, Nem Star. You have a visitor, by the way."

The doctors left the room. Only Nem and Rimia remained.

"Nem…"

Rimia ran up to Nem and hugged him.

"Rimia, what's going on?"

Rimia stopped hugging Nem. She rubbed the scar on his head. However, she was not shocked.

"Don't you realize what's going on, Nem?"

"No…"

"Nem, I love you."

This opened Nem's eyes fully.

"What?"

"Nem…"

Rimia hugged Nem again. Nem did not know what he was supposed to do, for he had never experienced love.

"Rimia…"

"Yes?"

"What am I supposed to do?"

Rimia stopped hugging Nem, and suddenly felt sad. She expected Nem to love her back, but that did not happen.

"You do what your heart tells you."

"I don't know what my heart is telling me."

Rimia felt sad again. Suddenly, she lifted her helmet off. Rimia had a pale face just like Nem. She had a nose slightly larger than Nem's nose. Her mouth was much smaller than Nem's mouth. Her eyes were circular, like Nem's eyes. Instead of having whites in her eyes, she had blacks. Unlike Nem, her eyes weren't red. Her eyes were ice blue. She had six very thick black hairs and went down from the top of her head to the sides of her head. Rimia had a saddened expression on her face. Her eyes were watering.

"Rimia! If General Naiot sees you without your helmet, he will go nuts! Put it back on!"

Suddenly, Rimia realized that Nem cared about her. He did not want Rimia to be hurt, and that was enough for Rimia to go to Nem and press her lips against his, and kiss him.

Right in the middle of this, General Naiot entered the room.

"Nem, are you ok-"

General Naiot looked at Rimia kissing Nem. Rimia stopped kissing Nem and quickly put her helmet back on. General Naiot approached Rimia.

"Actually, there are exceptions to the rule about removing your helmet. One of them is kissing, so you're not in trouble."

Hearing this relieved both Nem and Rimia.

"Just don't kiss too much. Rimia, you should go home and sleep. It's late. Nem, I want to talk to you."

Rimia quickly darted out of the room. General Naiot sat down in a chair near Nem, who was lying on the bed.

"Nem, how do you feel?"

"I'm getting better."

"How did you get so injured?"

"Shall I explain my trip to Earth?"

"Please do so."

"The first humans I encountered lived in a village known as Happy Happy Village, home of the Blue Blue Academy of Psychokinetics. The leader of the academy was an old man known as the Carpainter. He taught me how to use PK Thunder Theta. This was just for myself, not for the mission.

"I then met a man known as Everdred in the neighboring town, Twoson. He said he knew a psychokinetic master, leaving in a forest between the town I was in and another town known as Onett. When I left for Onett, a man studying at the Blue Blue Academy gave me a PK Caramel."

Nem gave General Naiot the candy that was wrapped up.

"Apparently, it heals some of your psychokinetic energies."

"Interesting…Go on, Nem. Go on."

"I went to the forest, but I was attacked by a woman named Paula. She apparently was the wife of the psychokinetic master. She first attacked me with PK Thunder Ohm, and then PK Freeze Sigma."

"Sigma? Are you sure?"

"Yes. Why?"

"She's then stronger than me…"

"What?"

"Please carry on, Nem."

"I attacked her with PK Blast Ohm and then PK Blast Theta, but then the real psychokinetic master came. He was a man named Ness. He smacked me with a baseball bat, then attacked me with PK Rockin' Olym."

"…Say that PK again."

"PK Rockin' Olym."

General Naiot quickly wrote down a lot of stuff on a piece of paper.

"Are you sure it's Olym?"

"Yes. What is Olym?"

"Olym is a psychokinetic level stronger than Sigma. We have information in past documents that Starmen were able to use Olym, but none have done so in millenniums."

General Naiot lied with his words, but Nem did not know he lied.

"Continue, Nem."

"Ness then used PK Magnet Olym, which drained my remaining psychokinetic energy. He launched one more PK Rockin' Olym at me. I fell to the ground and everything went black. I can't remember what I felt during the period when I was on the ground. But, I suddenly got back up. I don't know how I did it, but Paula launched a PK Fire Sigma at me, and I deflected it at Ness. I somehow used PK Rockin' Ohm, and I managed to escape from Ness and I returned to here."

"Is that all?"

"Yes."

General Naiot finished taking notes.

"General Naiot, I have a question."

"Yes?"

"How did I get this scar?"

General Naiot silenced, but then spoke again in a deep voice.

"You deserve to know. But first, you must know about your parents. Your father was a member of the Starmen Federation. I remember us being friends when we were training. If your father was alive, he'd be my age right now. Your father was a nice man. One day, he was injured badly in training, so he went to this hospital. There, he met a young lady who was learning to be a doctor. That would be your mother. The two fell in love. They got married when they were older. They then had you.

"By this time, I was a general. I remember you as a baby. You were quite the playful Starmen. Whenever I visited your dad, you followed me around. It was quite funny, actually. Your parents were both great Starmen.

"But, eleven years ago, your father suddenly died. He was the first Starmen to die of a disease that spread throughout the entire planet at a fast pace. The doctors did not know how this happened, or why this happened. Only one doctor knew, and that was your mother. However, right as she found the cure, she died of the disease. The other doctors found her information on this disease.

"This disease was entitled the Star Disease, named after you. This disease froze up your brain. Eventually, it will freeze up the entire thing, instantly killing you. The first person to be cured from this disease was you. That is why there is the scar on you head. You must realize that this disease killed millions of Starmen. It killed your parents, and it killed my family, too…

"My mother, my father, my wife, and my son…All of them are now dead because of this disease. But nobody knows what caused this disease, except your mother. She told other doctors that she knew how this disease was caused, but she never recorded it on paper. There is still a chance that the disease will emerge once again. But when it does, we'll know how to stop it."

General Naiot got up.

"Good night, Nem."

"Good night, General Naiot."

Nem Star fell asleep in his bed, but he had a horrible nightmare. He saw his parents as a baby, and he saw them die.
