Chapter 3: The First Day
At last, the day has finally come! What day is that? This day is the day when Nem Star and his friends would be taken by General Naiot to become soldiers for the Starmen Federation. This was the day Nem Star dreamt of for years.

"I've dreamt of this day for years!"

See what I mean? Nem and his friends all passed through the door to the Starmen Federation HQ, not knowing what to expect. In fact, nobody knew what to expect on this day, for each year, the training courses change. Rumor had it that this year was going to be the toughest year ever in Starmen history. But hearing this did not dismay Nem; it determined him to achieve his goal of becoming a soldier.

And so, Nem looked inside the HQ of the Starmen Federation with awe. Inside, there were many Starmen. Including Nem and his three friends, there were fifty Starmen in the HQ. Sitting on the ground against a wall was none other than General Naiot himself. Nem immediately approached him.

"General Naiot, sir!"

General Naiot looked up at Nem, Emet, Ajuni, and Rimia.

"Hello, you four. I'm glad you all made it here."

Ajuni spoke up.

"I'm not going to miss becoming a soldier!"

General Naiot chuckled.

"Of course not, Ajuni. Well, we haven't started yet. Go introduce yourselves to other Starmen here if you want. Or, just wait patiently."

Emet spoke.

"Very well then. We shall wait until we begin."

"Good, good."

And with that, Nem and his friends went off to meet the others. Nem went to a corner of the room. He saw a Starmen sitting there, doing nothing. Nem approached him.

"Hey, you!"

The Starmen looked at Nem.

"I'm Nem Star! Who are you?"

The Starmen grumbled.

"If you must know, I am Redef Emna. You should also know that I was concentrating my psychokinetic powers for when we use them and I do not like to be bothered. But of course you know nothing about concentrating psychokinetic powers, because you probably don't deserve to be here. Now leave me alone!"

Nem backed away a bit.

"You should take life seriously, but not that seriously. You'll never have time for any fun."

"Fun? Is that what matters to you? Fun? What about protecting the public of the Starmen from any threat? What about saving lives? Does that mean anything to you? Does it?"

"Well, yeah."

"Well, yeah? You don't care! The point of being a soldier in the Starmen Federation is to protect the lives of other Starmen. You only care about fun. You're a disgrace to the Starmen! Leave me!"

"Fine, then…"

And with that, Nem walked away. But now he felt sort of down because of Redef. He caught up with Rimia.

"Nem, don't be so down. You just be anxious for the training!"

Nem put his head back up.

"Yeah, you're right Rimia. Time to train!"

"That's the spirit, Nem!"

"ATTENTION!"

All the Starmen looked up at General Naiot, who was standing on a raised platform in the floor. General Naiot was holding his trusty silver sword. His gold armor was shining, and he was ready to begin.

"Welcome, Starmen. As you may or may not know, I am General Naiot. You will address me as General Naiot. Do not call me General. Do not call me Naiot. Call me General Naiot. Understand?"

Everyone in the crowd of chrome Starmen agreed.

"Good. This is a new year for the Starmen Federation. You may have heard rumors that this year will be the toughest year yet. Those rumors are true."

This sent a buzz in the crowd. Nem silently cheered.

"But first, you must all be recognized as soldier trainees in the Starmen Federation."

General Naiot put his silver sword in the air. Suddenly, a small, black, upside-down triangle appeared the left chest of every Starmen. Underneath the triangle, two black squares were also seen.

"Now you all have a badge on, proving that you're members of the Starmen Federation. Welcome, all of you."

At this, everybody, especially Nem, cheered with joy.

"And for your first training, you will practice your offensive psychokinetics in here. I will see what all of you can do. BEGIN!"

All the Starmen scattered about, and immediately began practicing their psychokinetics. Rimia, Emet, and Ajuni were all in a group, for they made a balance of psychokinetic power together. However, I wish to take a moment now to explain psychokinetic power.

Psychokinetics, known as PK, is the energy that Starmen, and many other creatures, use in order to perform a numerous amount of activities, most of which impossible to humans with no realization of these powers. These activities include offensive attacks, defensive tactics, and many everyday use psychokinetics.

Psychokinetics are measured by their power. The weakest power measurement is Ohm. Next comes Theta. After that is Omega. The most powerful measurement known is Sigma, which can only be preformed by King Ochun due to the heavy amount of energy it takes to unleash those psychokinetics.

Offensive psychokinetics have three basic types. Those types are fire, ice, and lightning. More advanced offensive psychokinetics include the very deadly blast tactics, and even combinations of psychokinetics, which can result in fire that freezes, or lightning that burns. However, mastering advanced combinations of PK is difficult, and can only be accomplished by those who spend lots of time in their life to mastering these techniques.

Now, we move back to Rimia, Emet, and Ajuni, who are about to put on a show of their PK for General Naiot. They all wanted to prove that they would become fine soldiers of the Starmen Federation. And so, they began!

"PK Freeze Ohm!"

Rimia raised her hands into the air.

"PK Thunder Ohm!"

Emet raised his hands into the air.

"PK Fire Ohm!"

Ajuni raised his hands into the air. Rimia created a ball of cold energy. Emet created electrical currents. Emet created a large flame. They all shot out the psychokinetic energy in front of them. General Naiot recorded something on a piece of paper.

"Good…Anything else?"

Rimia chuckled.

"We all have a Theta of another."

"Show me."

And so, our three friends let out a deep breath and got ready to launch another psychokinetic attack.

"PK Fire Theta!"

Rimia raised her hands into the air.

"PK Freeze Theta!"

Emet raised his hands into the air.

"PK Thunder Theta!"

Ajuni raised his hands into the air. Rimia created a big flame, larger then Ajuni's previous one. Emet created a large amount of cold energy. Ajuni charged a small bit of electrical energy in the air. He then moved his hand down to under his chest. He pushed the energy out of his hand and several lightning bolts emerged from his hand. Rimia's flame launched out a flamethrower. Emet's cold energy charged out of his hand, and bursted. This caused that area to be frozen. General Naiot wrote more things down. Several Starmen who were watching, including Nem, applauded the trio. General Naiot spoke.

"Good job. You seem prepared. Good, good…Nem!"

"Sir, yes sir!"

"What can you do?"

"I have Ohm of all tactics."

Redef, hearing this, quietly chuckled. But, he did not fully understand what Nem meant.

"Well then, show me."

Nem put his hands above his head. In a quick moment, a flame launched out of it, followed by a small amount of cold energy, and then a lightning bolt. General Naiot commented.

"Not the strongest psychokinetics, but you are the fastest I've seen in terms of gathering psychokinetic energy. Good, good…Redef!"

"I'm right here, sir."

General Naiot turned around and saw Redef sitting at the corner.

"C'mon! Show me what you got, Redef."

"I gladly will, sir."

Redef stood up and walked towards General Naiot.

"So, what can you do?"

"Sir, I can do Theta of all tactics."

With this, all the Starmen hushed.

"Really now? You must show me."

"I gladly will, sir."

Redef put his hands above his head. A flamethrower launched out of his hands in a short time. Next, a blast of cold energy came out. Lastly, multiple lightning bolts charged out. General Naiot was in awe.

"Well, well, Redef. You definitely are the fastest and strongest with psychokinetics here."

Hearing this, Nem became enraged. He was the fastest, and he felt proud. But then Redef came and his reign as the fastest ended shortly after it began.

"General Naiot, sir?"

General Naiot turned around and finished recording information on Redef.

"Yes, Nem?"

"I forgot to show you another PK of mine."

"Is this a joke, Nem?"

"No, sir. I have one more offensive PK to show."

"Then show it."

Nem put his hands on his head and concentrated a great deal of energy.

"PK…"

Nem started to glow green. General Naiot screamed.

"BACK AWAY!"

"…BLAST OHM!"

A huge green explosion occurred from Nem. It hit one of the walls and destroyed it. General Naiot ran in and held it up in place, then screamed.

"NEM! Look what you've done!"

Nem looked at the destroyed wall, which was supporting the building.

"Uhh…Can you fix that, General Naiot?"

"Of course I can. You think I'm like those humans, who take forever to fix a measly wall. I'm not Earthbound, Nem!"

The wall reappeared. General Naiot grabbed his silver sword and stabbed Nem.

"GAH!"

Nem flinched and dropped to the ground. Rimia gasped. She was afraid of what General Naiot would do.

"Nem, I can't believe I have to say this rule. DO NOT DESTROY THE BUILDING! You can practice PK Blast here, but don't destroy the building! As punishment, you will clean the cafeteria tonight, without use of psychokinetics. UNDERSTAND?"

"Ye-Yes sir."

Nem slowly got up off of the ground. General Naiot looked at the rest of the Starmen.

"Continue psychokinetic training. The next person to destroy part of this building will be punished. And trust me, I won't be as forgiving as I was this time."

Redef looked at Nem, chuckled, and muttered to himself.

"Stupid fool. He'll only get himself killed."

The crowd of Starmen spread out and continued using psychokinetics. Nem muttered to himself.

"Heh…This is fine. I may be hurt, but I'm the only one who knows PK Blast of the fifty rookies. I just have to develop my powers, and I'll become a true soldier of the Starmen Federation."
