Bedside A poem by Heavily Armored Hamster --- I stand here beside the bed Quietly I stare upon the body Which my eyes recognize as my own I am not certain If the two of us shall rejoin For the scars long and the wounds deep But in spirit, I am intact It was a dreadful fray I knew that my future was foggy I'm just lucky that I had Such caring, loyal friends as you The fate of the world, teetering And yet you drop your weapons Just to rush me here I'm surprised at how lucky I am All three of you, beside my bed Worried, scared, nervous, anxious... I wish that I could tell you I'm okay But alas, I am beyond this mortal plane If I could speak with you all again, I would want you to know For you, I'd do the same. (Note: This poem in one of the "Lost Poems" of Heavily Armored Hamster, meaning that the poem was written in 2003, but never submitted to Starmen.net until 2005.)
