Chapter 51

The Background

In the howling winds and snow of Siberia, a young figure stands before two graves.

“Well, I’ve done it.  Thanks to you two, I was able to overcome what had been torturing me for so long.  I actually got meet the legendary Nyxx though.  And you know… her legends are not exaggerated a single bit.  She is absolutely invincible.  She even withstood my seven dragon ballistics.  It was the spell I modified in case if I were to ever get into the situation like you two did.  Fortunately, that has not happened yet but, as it seems, I’m going to be in one very shortly.

“To be quite honest, I’m so afraid right now it’s eating me alive.  After fighting those four before, and how terrifying their power was, and knowing they were not at full strength yet, I’m truly wondering if we even stand a chance against them.  I heard about the literal miracles that it took to defeat Godan and Giygas.  I know about how both the Chosen and Destined Ones were on the last inch of their lives when they finally struck the final blow.  We even have the weapons of light now, but I think they will prove useless against beings that have been alive for probably billions of years.  I mean, how are these archaic looking weapons even supposed to help us fight against the Four Horsemen of Apocalypse?  They seem to have powers imbedded into them to the likes we’ve never before, but are those powers even a fraction of the true power of those four.  I even went to Magicant, but I received only a microscopic level of power from there.  Nothing compared to what Ness received, and I know Casie came out much stronger than she originally was after she came out of Magicant.  Mike… well, he hasn’t gone to Magicant yet, at least to my knowledge.  For all I know, he might be there right now going through what I did”.

The young boy stood over the two graves with no tears in his eyes but with only a smile.  It was not an evil smile or a smile of happiness, but it was a smile of closure.  Like the boy was finally able to move on.  He soon knelt down and laid a bouquet of flowers he had brought with him and drew his sword.  “Time to take all this ice and debris off of your graves now” he said as he quickly slashed off the ice in only three slashes, making the graves look completely new.  He sheathed his sword after making sure he did a commendable job, and then turned around and slowly walked away.

“It’s been six years to the day today that they died.  Six very long years that have gone by without them by my side.  Thanks to you, Nyxx, and in some ways Ness and Mike, and especially the Saturns for giving me closure.  I have not felt this relieved since a few days before their murders.”

As he approached his house only one thought even crossed his mind, “Can we win?”

Once at his home, the young boy opened his front door and set his sword down.  “Hello Dave” a voice inside the house said.  Dave did not speak it, so who was it?  Also, he did not see anyone in front of him so they had to be behind him.  Since he had not turned around since he had gotten home he could have missed someone.  He quickly unsheathed the sword he had just set down and turned around.  He quickly realized the sword would be of no use though, since this person would not even be scratched by his blade.

“N… N… N…” Dave uttered repeatedly in shock as he could not believe who was in his home.

“Yes Dave, it’s me, Nyxx.”  At that point, Dave dropped his blade and slapped himself to make sure he was not hallucinating.  What he saw was real though, the archangel Nyxx was inside his house holding one of the artifacts from ancient Avalon he had been given or collected over the years.

“Why are you here?  Don’t you live in Deep Darkness and only come out when it’s needed.  I thought you were supposed to protect that area because of the power that resides there!” Dave completely confused by what was currently happening.  Every legend he ever heard about Nyxx contain a statement that she would only leave the Deep Darkness for two reasons: if she had a task of giving a prophecy or if she had someone to defeat because they were a danger to the world.  The one exception to this was to be when she gave the Avalonians magic.  That was supposed to be it.

“That’s an absolute lie told by people who wanted answers to why an archangel would suddenly appear.  The truth is the Deep Darkness is only the area I protect, but I am in no way restricted to it.  For the last six thousand years I have lived in human society in one form or another.  I have not interfered with human events in any shape or form though.  I have only lived the life as a commoner who just wanted to live life the way it was, that’s all.  Do you honestly think I would have liked being alone in that abyss that is the Deep Darkness for that long.  I think not.  I only go there once every five years or when someone goes down there to summon me for something important.  Clear things up for you”, Dave shook his head up and down confirming that he did.  “Good.”

“Alright Nyxx, then I have a question for you.  Why did you not go and defeat the Four Horsemen of Apocalypse yourself with the other archangels that guarded the weapons?  Obviously, you archangels are more powerful than myself, the Destined Ones, and the Chosen Ones all combined.  Why is it that you have not done the job yourself?” Dave asked bluntly.

“I’ll answer that for you.  The only one of us who might have had a chance if we had done that was Gabrielle.  Granted, she was not the strongest of the four of us, but she was by far the only one who could have taken on those four as they descended to Earth one by one.  Her spacetime manipulation technique are what made the only one capable of it, and actually she did fight Godan when he came in the 1800’s originally.  She managed to seal him temporarily until Giygas came and broke that seal.  She crushed the strongest of the Four Horsemen of Apocalypse because she had the skills necessary to do it.  Godan is actually weak to spacetime attacks which allowed her to do the job, but she did not even have the power to finish him.  When the leader of the Destined Ones, the prophesized Horseman of Time, was to beat Godan, he was to tap into a power beyond that of anything that Gabrielle ever could.  It seems that if you now have to face all four.  That child did accomplish a feat that has not been done in five millennia.  Back to the point though, that should answer your first question.

“Now for the one you asked beforehand, I’m here to teach you some spells that might come in handy for you later on.  Listen, the magic I taught the Avalonians is nothing compared to my level.  I wish to teach you some of that level, as well as teach you how to use your weapon of light.  I guess when you tried to test it when you got back that it doesn’t manifest arrows like your other bows” Nyxx explained.

“Yeah, how did you know?” Dave replied asked after hearing her explanation.

“The being who created those weapons told me that it could not.  It does have arrows that can be manifested, but a manifester needs to make them.  Savior’s Power is a completely different weapon.  It uses soul energy to make arrows, meaning the arrows are much more potent than those that are solid or those made with magic, like that seven dragons magic you modified.”  As Nyxx spoke, she shivered slightly when she said the word manifester.  As if something had happened in her past the made her react like that.

“Question, why did you shake when you said the word manifester?” Dave asked wanting to know.

“It’s a long story.  First, you know the manifester in your group.  The Apple spoke of one who was a part of the party that defeated Godan.  I believe that Nolan was the name stated in the Apple.”

“Yeah, I know him.  A kid about Mike’s height maybe a centimeter taller than Mike.  He’s the one who can summon some of the blades from the divided Sword of Heaven.  Before the Horsemen of Apocalypse attacked us in Belle Vernon, this little pendant here picked up his energy as the strongest by far.  Only your energy caused and the Horsemen of Apocalypse caused a more potent reaction so far” Dave said as he pulled out the pendant, showing that it still went out towards Nyxx, but not as much as it did before.  Nyxx was not in her most powerful state after all.

“Well, this will make explaining manifesters much easier to you then.  They are incredible beings, and it is very rare for a human to be born one.  When they are, most hide their powers or never develop them in the sake of being feared or being outcast by the people around them.  Once they start developing their powers, manifesters quickly ascend beyond the levels of some of the best trained warriors ever known.  Also, manifesters have two forms.  The first their normal human form, they can still do simple manifestation such as summoning some of the sacred blades or other weapons, but very limited in what they can do.  Once they reach a certain limit, their bodies convert into what your society these days likes to call a hyper mode.  In hyper mode, they are armored with different colored armors that are as hard if not harder than the legendary Titan’s armor.  Their manipulation abilities to create weaponry and items out of nothing go up exponentially as well.  Not to mention they tap into their soul or mental energies to create these forms so either by Fate or Psi methods are used.  Meaning their physical and mental abilities also go up as well.  On top of that, they can manipulate their auras to create different levels of shielding that can block nearly anything.  I know the Horsemen of Time has his little abilities, but his are inborn and limited to those inborn traits.  A manifester can go beyond that inborn level and make themselves nearly invincible.  The only true way to defeat a fully trained manifester in battle is to out last them or to neutralize their hyper mode” she explained.

“What does all of this have to do with you then?”

“I was hoping you wouldn’t ask.  It was about three hundred years ago…

At that time, I was living in colonial America at the time.  I was just a simple apprentice to a silversmith in the Virginia area.  He was not one of the greatest or most skilled at his profession.  At that time though, such an art intrigued me so I decided to work for him as a twenty year old who had been unable to marry, and needed a job.  While there, I was learning various skills and trying to keep my mind off of my various duties and the destruction of Avalon only two hundred years prior by Giegue.  I had lived for about two hundred years undisturbed in human society until…

“Sir, which person did you say ordered this again?” I said in a rush that day.  We were busy for that time of year.  It was just me and him working there, so the amount of work given to us was enough for us to rush.

“Just to the house about two miles down the dirt path on the right side, you can’t miss it, Natalie” he said to me.  Calling me by the surname I was using during that time.

“Thanks, I’ll be back in about two hours” I said as I quickly went out the door to deliver the product we had smithed.  Only a house-sitter was home that day since the family was out of town temporarily, but we were instructed to deliver the silverwares we made for them if they did not happen to be home yet and the house-sitter would pay us.  Of course, I was not going to make the delivery on foot and I needed a break.  It was rare that I had ever gotten a break from working, so I actually used my wings and flew to the house that day.  I also made sure that no one would see me.  For the beliefs of that era and how rare it is for a human to even see me in my archangel form, I had to be careful no one saw me.  It was isolated enough so I was able to fly and make it to the house in a rather short amount of time.  It was about noon as well, so the house-sitter would not think I was early either.

*Knock Knock!*  I gently knocked on the door with my knuckles to see if anyone was home.  The house-sitter quickly answered.  “Oh, you must the girl from the silversmith.  I can see by what you are holding in your hands there that goods are finished” he said to me as I quickly handed everything to him.  “I hope it was not any trouble coming up here miss.”

“Not at all, it was actually a nice break to get away for now.  We have been busy down at the shop, so it was nice to be outside in the daytime for once” I replied.

“If you have time, would you like a quick cup of tea I just made” he told me.

“S…”, I was about to agree, but I thought I heard something.

“Is something wrong?  You just trailed off there” the man commented as he had heard me.

“I’m sorry.  I just remember that I need to get back to the shop and help out.  Maybe some other time” I replied quickly backing up and running off as quickly as my human form would let me.  The clothes of the era did not make it easy either.  Once I was a good distance away, I stopped and concentrated.

NYXX!  I know you are here!  If you know what is good for you, you will come out before I force you out!” a voice called out.  It was young and female.  It was coming from the Deep Darkness.  Normally, I would have flown down there as quickly as I could, but the voice was rude so I decided to pay no attention to it.  Until…

NYXX!  Please help!  Come to the Deep Darkness right away.  I’ll explain later.  Let’s say I’m powerless to do anything!  The second voice quickly caught my attention.  It was Gabrielle.  Granted, we were archangels who only about two hundred years prior, had been given the task of guarding the weapons of light.  Also, she was the archangel assigned the task of protecting the entrance of the Garden of Eden millennia beforehand.  I have other assigned tasks that I shall not reveal to you now, but I will at a later time more appropriate time, so do not even ask.

After hearing her voice, I immediately let my wings out and went down to the Deep Darkness post haste.  I had no clue what had happened to Gabrielle.  I was not taking any chances though.  For all I knew, one of the Horsemen of Apocalypse had come to Earth and found out about the weapons and the archangels guarding them.  Or even worse, they found out about the Garden and Sea of Eden and the powers that lied in those places.  I was there within a minute if not less traveling at my fastest speed.

Once I had landed, I quickly noticed that the Deep Darkness had been illuminated with the temporary use of a hawk eye, the items I created so that lost travels could survive the wasteland, seven in all.  “I see you have finally made it, archangel of purity and darkness.  The legendary Nyxx, the strongest of the…”

“Seal your lips you rude whench!” I immediately lashed out at the voice spoken behind me.  As I turned around, I saw a young girl of about twenty years in age standing in front of me.  I could tell just by her voice when she tried to summon me that she had an attitude problem.  I also had a feeling she had something to do with Gabrielle so my usual kind spirit disappeared faster than a steak with a starving dog.  “I do not know why you are here but why are you here?”

“The weapon and the power that lies here” she said.

“No power lies here!” I replied harshly.

“Sure, this stone is not glowing for no reason you know” she replied back just as harshly.  She quickly showed to me what I immediately recognized as the Sound Stone.

“How did you get that?!”

“You will never know that.  You do not have the right to know such information” she said with a smirk on her face.

I at this point was insulted.  “How dare you talk to me like that!  Whether if I was an archangel or not, you have no right to ever use the smart lip of yours.”

“I’ll only ask once again, give me the weapon and power that lie here!”

“First, as I told you no power lies here.  Secondly, no weapon lies here.  My duties are different than those of what you think.  The Sound Stone will not collect a Sanctuary here even you tried.  Even if you force that stone to absorb any power that might be here, it would be absolutely none because nothing lies here!” I replied with an even harsher tone than her own.  What I had not told her was that nearby, Lumina Hall, an actual Sanctuary, was located in a set of caverns below where we stood enroute to the Lost Underworld.  I chose not to tell her that because I wanted to know her link to Gabrielle because I suspected she had one.

“That’s what she said” the red-headed girl replied as she threw the shock of my entire existence right at my feet.

“GABRIELLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” I screamed at my highest pitch in absolute horror.  My skin immediately turned a pale white just from the sight I had seen.  There at my feet, Gabrielle laid in a brutalized state.  That’s an understatement though.  Words cannot describe the horrible mutilation her body had undergone.   Five of her wings had been nearly sliced off completely.  The only parts left of those were the very ends where her remaining parts of her wings and feathers were stained blood red.  Her other three wings were also stained in a tremendous amount of blood as well, and looked like they had wounds in them as well, but were at least whole.  Her torso area had caulderized wounds and holes that went through her body.  Her right arm had been halfway cut off and was laid down on top of her massacred body shortly thereafter by the girl.  Her left arm had a gash that ran all the way down to her palm.  Her legs had been completely shattered and bent in positions that not even the person with the strongest stomach could have withstood the sight of.  I was shaking just from the catastrophic shock that I was experiencing.  As that was going on, I looked at the girl who had seemingly done the damage to Gabrielle with pure anger and rage.  “What did you do to her?!  TELL ME NOW!” I howled as my power started to rapidly climb.

“She said to me what you said to me.  She paid the price for lying to me.  I did not think an archangel of her legendary status could have been such an easy obstacle to overcome.  I wanted entrance to Eden to gain access to its enormous power, so I could tap into it.  I also wanted the legendary weapon of light that was kept there.  She refused to open the gates, so I punished her for her disobedience.”  What shock me the most is that she was laughing through that entire statement.  It made me sick that someone could do something so inhumane and just laugh about it.

“Why… why are YOU DOING THIS?!” I hollered with all that I had.

“Why?  I thought you would have realized it by now.  After I defeated that little friend of yours there, I quickly found a device in inside of the ruins of Avalon before coming here.  I believe it’s called the Mani Mani statue”.  After she had said that, the red-haired girl quickly got my full attention.  “I had been searching for it for a long time so I could summon them to this world”.

“No… she did not do what I THINK SHE DID?” I thought to myself in absolute panic.

“So I could summon Giygas and Godan to this world, the Horsemen of Death and Plague.  So they could know of the power that lies here and claim it as their own.  I would make their job easier by giving it to them on a golden platter.  As well as collecting the weapons of light and destroying them, never allowing the Apple to bear its fruit, I have already had the evil power of the Mani Mani statue awaken and summon those two to this world.  When they come, not even the legendary Horsemen of Light will be able to stop them”.

She was right because you horsemen were at least two hundred fifty years from ever being born.  I could not believe what she had done so easily.  She had defeated Gabrielle without taking so much as a visible scratch from what I could see.  In the short amount of time that it took for her to go from G.E. Island to the Deep Darkness, she had also made a stop into the ruins of Avalon and found Mani Mani and activated it.  It was nothing short of amazing that she had accomplished everything in maybe a half an hour.  I could easily she that it had been that long because Gabrielle’s wounds were still fresh and becoming worse.  On top of all that, she seemed to have the knowledge of how to kill an archangel, since Gabrielle’s wounds had not healed yet and since Gabrielle could withstand the zero-point bomb that Avalon detonated against Giegue as well as any archangel could.  I knew this girl had some serious powers.

“What is your name?” I said as calmly as my emotions would let me.

“I thought you would never ask.  I will tell you because it shall be the last name you will ever hear!  My name is Juliana Alester!”  Everything made sense at that point.  I had heard that name before.  As an archangel, it is obvious that I could know things through wandering spirits and the Heavens if I felt that I was behind on such major affairs.  One day, the Heavens had told me of a fifteen years old girl they would be keeping an eye on for now on.  Her name was Juliana Alester.  A British girl with a serious attitude problem, but was very gifted with power as well.  At a young age, she discovered that she was a manifester, and quickly honed her abilities.  When she turned fifteen, her power had become enough that the Heavens were going to keep an eye on her.  Not to mention she was obsessed with prophecies of the Apple and the darkest magical arts.  Not only was she a great magician, but she also had manifester powers.  And with the concerns even Heaven had shown over her, but they could not interfere with human affairs, otherwise, they would have in her case; that she must have been easily able to out match Gabrielle at that point.  She must have gained a teleportation spell as well because she was covering long distances in very short amounts of time after defeating Gabrielle.  Not to mention getting to G.E. Island is nearly impossible with the exception of flying there or teleportation.

What really made me afraid was that she had seemingly unlocked the secrets of the Sound Stone already.  Above all else, the fact that she was holding that Sound item was a threat enough.  If she had started to figure out how to collect the power of the Sanctuaries, then she might have been able to tap into the power of the Sanctuaries.  Finally, she had found and activated Mani Mani for her own evil purpose.  Juliana Alester was more than a threat at that point.  She was a force that needed to be stopped immediately.

“You know, Nyxx.  You should be grateful your friend is still alive.  I saw no challenge in killing her right now, so I decided to let her suffer before I finish her off.  Instead, I wanted an actual challenge” she said to me.  I was relieved to know that Gabrielle still had a chance, but I had to act fast.  “Why don’t we get the fun started then?  Ra-sho-yu-ki-shen!”  Her chant was a spell I had never heard of before.  It was a custom chant that had one purpose, to allow her to achieve her true form without the use of a Fate or Psi, a very effective method in terms of endurance and power for her advantage.  She had a light blue armor that showed her natural beauty.

“You have no idea who you are up against.  I swear on my life and Gabrielle’s that I WILL STOP YOU!” I said as my aura erupted from pure intensity of my rage.  I slowly took deep breaths though.  I knew that she was no joke and wanted to kill both me and Gabrielle.  I could not let my rage overtake me but I still needed to use my full strength against her.  I didn’t have much time.  But after being alive for thousands of years, I did not need much.

She quickly formed a sword in hand that was extremely light, hard, and sharp.  It seemed to be the same that she used on Gabrielle.  Once that was done, she wasted no time in charging straight at me.  That was her first mistake, she underestimated me.  I was not going to joke around, and quickly blocked her sword with my right pinky and grabbed it with my right hand.  Once I had a firm grip on her sword, I bent it one hundred eighty degrees with the simple flick of my wrist.  “How did you do that?  That should have sliced your finger off!” yelled as she quickly reformed her sword to its normal position, a classic manifester ability.

“I’m not Gabrielle.  I have different tricks, strengths, and weaknesses than she does.  Someone of your skills should have noticed that every individual life form has a slight difference of capacities no matter how similar they are” I replied as she quickly formed a second broadsword in her other hand.

“I was just surprised you could stop my blade that’s all.  Let’s see how you deal with two!” she said as she charged at me and quickly striking my neck.  I’ll admit I did not even see her swing the blade in her left hand when she hit.  But it did not matter anyway, she did not scratch me.  “What part of Hell did you come from?  You should not have been able to take a direct blow like that no matter how strong you are!”

Juliana started swinging at me with everything she had to no avail.  Her swords started to break from the force of impact but I did not have a mark on me.  “You going to give up” I said.

“No, I haven’t even started to fight yet” she said as quickly started to carve into the ground with her swords.  “Bow before my magic, Tha-Omi-Et!”  As she said her chant she hit me with a blast of energy.  For the first time in over a millennium, I had felt pain.  The young Brit only smiled.  “Just as I thought, you use a magic barrier protect that body of yours from every form of physical attack.  That magic blast was an anti-barrier.  I have several more spells that can do the same but are much more potent”.

I looked at the carving she made in the ground and saw how she did that.  The blast she did was simple and normally something I could have withstood with ease.  The carving she made her every spell have anti-barrier capacity.  “Nice trick.  I have to admit not many have ever been able to make me feel pain.  Well then, you showed me your magic, now I will show you mine”.  She must have known about my reputation because she backed up the second I had said that.

Immediately put my right index finger in front of me and pointed right towards her.  “Child, that spell you just did is still at the novice level compared to mine.  Let me show something a little more complicated, Cka!”  She immediately flew backwards as a hit her with a concussion spell.  “Now for something your mind could never comprehend how to do.  Psi Freeze Omega!”  I hit her with the Omega level of Freeze as fast as I could to try and immobilize her.  It hit but did not have the desired effect.

“You used psychokinetics!  You cheat!” she screamed as she chanted a long spell and summoned an inferno form under me.  I didn’t feel a thing.  “You bitch!  The legends were true about your powers.  Fine then, I’ll have to try now!” She said as she started to form a new sword in her hands.  It had runes carved right into it.  I took a step back once I read the runes.

“That’s right, you know what those runes say don’t you, the sword that can kill an immortal being such as yourself.  It took me four years to get these runes right, and I decide to give it a little test run on Cerberus once I finished.  Let’s just say his dog years caught up on him!”  I was sick of her and immediately charged forward after hearing that.  I quickly hit her square in the front-lobe as I quickly grabbed her leg and threw her skyward.  I flew upwards to try and hit her again but countered with her sword and me barely dodging it.  It actually put a small scratch on one of my wings.

At this point, there was no more talk.  It was all out war.  I couldn’t let her get one clean slash with that sword.  It took a while, but after a few minutes of dodging her attacks I read the runes she had been using on her sword.  It intrigued me that she managed to beat Gabrielle so easily.  Gabrielle uses a defense stronger than my own with a distortion field so I couldn’t help wondering how she managed to penetrate that.  They were from Balter’s rune combination.  He was a magician that lived long ago that created the rune combination as an efficient way to slay demons in one slash.  It also had the convenient side-effects of being able to strike down anything immortal and being a barrier breaker.  Meaning Gabrielle would have been no match once her distortion field was struck down.  Once I saw that combination, I started to fight back.

She quickly swung around with her sword.  I quickly dodged and struck back with a kick and throw combination that even she would have felt through her armor.  I soon went forward at full speed to try and hit her before she could recover.  Juliana moved out of the way just in time and slashed of one of my right wings.  In pain I came around with a sharp kick and used a lightning spell to see if I could fry her body.  She got up but slowly as I started to go on the attack again.  I was about to hit her with a flying kick when she somehow found the energy to spin around and slash me right across my abdomen.  She had caught me off guard and made an eight inch gash and an inch deep with her sword.  To say I was in pain would be an understatement, I could not move because the pain was so intense.  What shocked me even more was that I had a hard time healing my new wound.

“Don’t even try.  This sword will hamper the healing abilities you immortals seem to have once I make contact with this thing”.  She was right.  I could not fully heal the wound I had received from her sword.  I managed to stop the bleeding, but that was it.  It meant I could not move around dodging her sword because I could possibly reopen my injury.

At that point she started to chant a strength augmentation spell, a very long and complex one at that.  I had to think.  What could I do to stop her before she could possibly hit me again, and maybe fatally next time?  Her armor made it impossible for my physical attacks to do much, despite my superior strength.  Her speed was incredible though.  She could move fast enough that some of her slashes with her sword were hard for me to see, especially at close range.  I had a technique in mind that could stop her, but it was untested.  It could neutralize her manifester form, giving me a chance.  I knew she could still re-manifest her sword if I broke it, but it would take Juliana longer to do.  The problem was the technique was untested.  If it was to fail, Juliana would be wide open to make a fatal blow.  And raising my power to full was out, since it could reopen my wound.  I had to now wait until that healed until I went all out.  I didn’t have a choice.  I had to stop neutralize her manifester form.  “Ra-thy-sa…” I started to chant as she finished her spell.

“Now die!” she screamed as she appeared right in front of in less than a half a second.  I quickly said the last syllable of my chant and waved my hand.  Juliana stopped her attack out of the pure shock at what I had just done.  She no longer had her armor on as she looked at herself with a blank stare on her face.  “You honestly think this will stop me!” she howled as she tried to slash me while I was still on the ground.  I quickly punched her as hard as I could without moving before she made contact with her sword.  Once I had made contact, she was immediately coughing up blood from just the sheer force of one of my punches.

While she was reeling, I started to stand once again.  I was cringing in from my wound as I stood.  It was starting to heal more efficiently since the magic of Juliana’s blade was starting to wear off.  “You impress me, Nyxx.  You moved so fast that not even I could see move.  I had this blade within an inch of your neck and yet you hit me at point blank range hard enough for me to have blood dripping out of my mouth.  You’ve been holding back haven’t you?  If you were so concerned about your dieing friend over there, why have you been holding back toying with me?  It is obvious you’ve had the power to even beat my true form.  And yet, you let yourself be beaten to the point where I almost finished you.  You bitch, what type of sick being are you to not even take me seriously?  I guess it’s time I finish the job I started before I came here”.

My eyes went wide open at that point.  I could not believe what she had said.  She had no idea what I was truly like at my full power.  Then I saw Juliana turn her head towards Gabrielle, and start to slowly move towards her as she chanted a healing spell.  She wanted to finish Gabrielle off in front of my eyes.  I wasn’t going to let that happened.  I knew it might mean reopening my wound, but at that point I didn’t care.  If it would never heal properly, I no longer cared.

“Now you Gabrielle, this is for denying me entrance to Eden, its power, and the weapon that resides there.  Burn in Hell you bitch!” she screamed now fully healed and starting to drive her sword ceremonially towards Gabrielle in a kneeling position.

“Rei-sho-yu-hie-mw-hu-it-ik-qa!!!!!!!!!!!!!”  I screamed in full fury as I appeared right in front of Juliana.  At that point, the gash in my abdomen started to reopen, but I did not care.  I had done something that I had not done in three hundred years.  I dispelled my magic barrier and let my powers loose.  It was the only way I could get in between Juliana and Gabrielle fast enough.  I then chanted a high level spell which I like to call shadow flare.  It uses dark energy to engulf anyone in close range in black flames.  At this point, my aura was surging widely out of control finally free from the chains I put on it to suppress its out-of-control nature.  “You want to know why I hold back Juliana!  This is why!  My true power is so great that it is hard to control for long periods of time.  I only use it when it is completely necessary to destroy something or someone, and I feel the time for me to destroy is right now!”

Juliana quickly started to reach for the sword I blew out of her hand when I sent her flying with shadow flare.  Her body had burns mark all over it as an after effect.  She still had the energy to fight though.  I had an objective to end that very quickly.  I moved right in between her and her sword at lightning speed and then step right on her right hand, breaking all five of her fingers in a slow and painful process.  “Damn you to Hell!  I swear that I will kill you if it’s the last thing I ever do!” she screamed as she started to chant the spell for her manifester form.  I then grabbed her left hand and slowly broke every bone in her fingers making her stop her chant.  I then bent her left arm in such a fashion that I completely shattered all the bones up to her shoulder blade in one quick flick of my wrist.

“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Fuck you!  What type of monster are you?  Don’t you feel any remorse for doing this to me?!  You sorry excuse for an archangel!”  She was in absolute pain at that point.  I dropped her left hand and used my right foot to step on her sword, fling it upward, and caught it in my hand.

“Quite the impressive sword you manifested here.  Too bad you won’t be using it against me anymore” I said as I shattered the sword with my two bare hands.  “And to answer your question, I feel no remorse for you at all.  For what you just did to Gabrielle, I could already never feel anything for torturing you.  You didn’t stop there though.  You even had the audacity to contact Giygas and Godan using the Mani Mani statue that was hidden in the ruins of Avalon.  Now those two are coming here!  On top of that, I already have no clue as to when Giegue will come back after Zumon defeated him using the Sword of Heaven, and blew him back into the deep recesses of space!  You might have just doomed this entire planet!  We might only have fifty years until one of those three shows up!  You think I would even show remorse towards torturing you?  I… THINK… NOT!” I said in a rage as I then picked up Juliana and threw her as hard as I could knocking her out cold, and probably bringing her within an inch of her life after the force of impact she had with the trees in the area.

“Gabrielle! I hope I’m not too late!” I yelled to myself as I quickly rushed to her side.  I quickly put my hands over her and started to chant a healing spell hoping she had not pasted on yet.  “Yi-te-er-do-fy-ri…” I went on for ten minutes as her wounds started to disappear.  Her eyes soon opened.

“Nyxx…” she softly spoke as she started to sit up.  “What the heck happened?”  I proceeded to tell her everything about what had just happened.  I think she was just too tried to remember or did not want to remember what happened.  She got a look of horror on her face when I told about what Juliana did before she tried to defeat me.  “My good God, that’s not good at all.  The Horsemen aren’t even born yet and we have the other two coming here on top of Giegue.  This is not good.  We can deal with Giegue effectively.  We’ll just complete the Sword of Heaven again and beat him if needed.  The other two though, how can anyone on this planet deal with them?”  Gabrielle told me as shook her head slowly as in disbelief.

“To be honest, we might have to rely on the Chosen and Destined Ones to defeat them” I replied.

“Do you honestly think the Apple is right in saying that two group will appear one day.  I mean I do not think any human can actually absorb the Sanctuaries of this planet.  The Sound items are supposed to allow humans to do that, but even those haven’t been seen in three hundred years” she said as I quickly remember what Juliana had shown me beforehand.

“Correction, the Sound Crystal in under you know whose protection right now.  I now know the Sound Stone’s location as well” I said as I looked towards Juliana’s unconscious body.  “She has the stone.  She found out that a Sanctuary was nearby and actually though it was this very spot.  Fortunately she never knew about the catacombs under these swamps” I said as I got up and picked up Juliana’s body and set it nearby, incase if she woke up and tried something funny.  I then proceed to compensate the Sound Stone from her.

“You mean Lumina Hall.  You’re right, Nyxx.  I can imagine if she then found the Lost Underworld.  Imagine what she would have done to the Tendas” Gabrielle remarked.

“I know.  It scares me that humans have so much potential at times.  They can shift towards good or evil just by those who manipulate them properly.  I have feeling now that something manipulated her as well.  She had a bright red tint in her eyes.  Not like the flames that appear in a berserker’s eyes either.  It was like something was controlling her” I said somberly.

“You mean as if when a human is under the influence of Mani Mani.  I see why you did not kill Juliana now.  You could have finished her whenever you wanted since you seem to have gone all out this time.  But about Mani Mani, I thought we took take of that problem along with him once Avalon fell” Gabrielle commented.

“I guess not.  We know the power of that statue, but I guess our seals could only last so long.  I think we need to find a more permanent place seal that thing away, so even if the seal is broken again after we put it back on no one will find it ever again” I said as I picked up Juliana’s unconscious body.  “First, I’m taking her somewhere safe.  I do not care if she is still under Mani Mani influence or not.  I took out both of her arms and she knows that she is no match for me.  Even if she heals up, I have a feeling she might too afraid to fight me again because I will be watching.  Afterwards, we need to go to the ruins of Avalon and take care of our little Mani Mani problem” I said as Gabrielle and I flew off.

Back at Dave’s house…

“Can you see now why I have such a feeling about manifesters, Dave?” Nyxx said to Dave after her long story.

“Yeah, I can.  You got lucky that spell worked, or you would have been done for.  Still though, it was a little long winded.  I at least know the history that took place beforehand and how Giygas and Godan managed to find Earth so quickly as well.  In all terms, it was worth hearing your story.  I have some questions, but I have feelings that you are not at liberty to answer them, so I will not ask.

“Now, about the training you wanted to give me in some more advanced magic…” Dave commented remembering Nyxx’s original purpose for coming.

Nyxx slowly stood up out of the chair she was sitting in.  “I remember don’t worry young Evangale.  I felt that my story was important as well.  Now you know why you are fighting…” Nyxx paused for a moment wondering if she should say anymore.

“You alright, Nyxx” Dave said noticing Nyxx’s sudden pause in speech.

“Yeah, I’m fine.  Just thinking about things, we better head outside since I used a nice bit of time with my story.  We need to get to work and now Dave.  I want you prepared for what’s to come.  After all, you and your companions are so young like so many others, and are just too young for your lives to end now” Nyxx said as Dave opened his front door leading outside.
