"PSI Fire Alpha!" Gustav and Alline yelled at once as the zombies began to get close. Both of them had been taking out zombies for almost twenty minutes and they were running low on PP. Lou was running out of ammunition for his Double slingshot but he had managed to defeat several zombies already. The remaining people of Threed were fighting hard as well but many were just cowering in the tent because they were afraid of hurting someone they knew. Finally, Gustav ran out of PP so he grabbed his Aluminum bat and started whacking. It took about two hits to beat each zombie but he was getting stronger by the minute. Alline still had some PP left so she was wiping out the ones that were getting into the tent.
"PSI Fire Alpha! PSI Fire Alpha! PSI Fire… Alpha!" Alline called again and again but more zombies were entering the tent. Screaming was heard from inside as people ran out, most were kicking zombies off their backs. Alline grabbed her Oblong frying pan and ran into the tent and almost fainted. Several people had been bitten, and they were beginning to turn a sick green color. Alline gritted her teeth and fired her strongest PSI Fire Alpha yet and wiped out the whole crowd with one shot. She avoided hitting those who weren't zombies but she had caught the tent on fire. Everyone ran out and finally started helping in the fight.
Things started to get worse when the zombies were able to bite even more people, but then the remaining people of Threed began to win when the Weapons Dealer handed out Air guns and Bottle rockets. Soon, the zombies were retreating. Some of them tried to carry wounded zombies with them, but a few shots of the Air guns took care of that. Finally, the zombies had all retreated and the fight was over.
The healer from the hospital immediately came out and turned all of the zombies back into normal people. All of them were glad they were back to normal. The injuries they had received as zombies had been healed as well.
"Finally. It's over." The leader of the resistance sighed as he sat down.
"Wait, there's still one more!" Someone yelled. A single zombie was sneaking up on Lou and was just about to bite him, but Lou managed to block with his Double slingshot. The zombie bit deeply into the slingshot and then collapsed when a Bottle rocket struck him. The zombie had knocked the slingshot of Lou's hand and when Lou reached for his slingshot it began to move around on the ground. Lou jumped back in horror as his Double slingshot grew into a Giant Possessed Double Slingshot! Gustav and Alline attacked relentlessly but the monster was barely affected by the baseball bat and frying pan. The hard wood of the slingshot gave it incredible defense.
"Clear out!" Someone yelled as a bomb flew through the air. Gustav, Lou, and Alline scattered as the Bomb exploded, defeating the Giant Possessed Double Slingshot. The giant slingshot fell to the ground and burst into flames, making a scorched impression in the grass.
"My slingshot… now I'm helpless!" Lou sat down in the grass.
"No problem." The weapons dealer said as he walked over to Lou. Then he whispered in Lou's ear. *psssst!* "Here's a nice 'toy' for you. You can pay me back later." The Weapons Dealer handed Lou a Magnum air gun. "That's a strange weapon that was sold to me a long time ago. Keep it safe, and don't say where you got it."
"Thanks." Lou whispered.
"That was certainly amazing." The leader of the resistance said. "You two kids are something special. Could you try to find what's controlling the zombies? We will give you special honor medals if you do."
"Lou is part of our group too." Gustav said. "You can't forget him."
"Lou? Lou… mmm… Lou! Oh! He's the red-haired guy that came with you two. Sure, he will get a medal too." The leader of the resistance then went over to the citizens of Threed in hopes to improve their mood.
"How could he not know I came with Gustav and Alline?" Lou muttered to himself. "Is it because I can't use PSI?" Lou got up and put his Magnum air gun into his pocket.
"Let's go to the hotel to rest up before we go." Gustav suggested. They walked to the hotel for a quick rest. While they were there, the phone began to ring. Gustav picked it up and found out that Dr. Andonuts was calling.
"Nice to hear you again Goostuff," Dr. Andonuts said. "I was flipping through my PSI Journal and I found something interesting. I discovered a PSI technique that is quite old but it should still be effective. It's called PSI Beam, and I think it would be helpful in your search."
"I'll tell everyone else about it." Gustav said as he put down the receiver. "It's Dr. Andonuts. He says that he found a new PSI power that's called PSI Beam."
"I'll learn it." Alline said as she got up.
"Why?" Gustav demanded.
"Because you have PSI Rockin, and I need to have some kind of special technique of my own."
"Well, if you want to." Gustav sighed. "How does this attack work?" Gustav asked Dr. Andonuts.
"Well, you concentrate your PSI into your pointing finger and then fire it." Gustav relayed the information to Alline and she tested it. She concentrated on putting her energy into her finger and then she just released it. A beam of white light shot out of her finger and made a nice-sized hole in the floor.
"Oops." Alline giggled.
"That will come out of your hotel fee." The clerk said as he started adding the new expense to their bill. They rested for a bit longer and then they traveled to the cemetery. On they way there, they had conversations to lessen their fear.
"Here's a little history lesson for you two." Alline said. "About twenty years ago, Threed was invaded by zombies just like now. But it wasn't as destructive as now. But anyway, three kids went into the cemetery and they were gone for a few days. Then all of a sudden, the zombies vanished and everything returned to normal. Then the kids returned not long after that."
"So three kids saved this town?" Gustav asked.
"Yes. I heard that one of them was named Ness, and the other was Paula. I forgot what the other was named."
"Did all of them have PSI?" Lou grumbled.
"I don't remember. I know that they had some kind of strange power, but I'm not sure what it was. The book I was reading wasn't specific on that."
"This place doesn’t seem so scary now, does it?" Gustav said as they got to the gate at the cemetery.
"Only to people who have PSI." Lou said under is breath.
"Let's walk slowly so we don't trip any traps or something." Alline whispered. They tiptoed their way among the graves, looking for an entrance that would lead to the headquarters of the zombies. Finally, they saw a path through the trees that led to a ladder, which was coming out of the ground. Two zombies were standing guard in front of it.
"That must be their headquarters." Gustav whispered as he pulled out his Aluminum bat.
"Let's attack quickly so they don't have time to ring an alarm." Alline said as she got her Oblong frying pan.
"We could attack from here." Lou suggested as he got is Magnum air gun out of his pocket. Lou aimed his Magnum air gun carefully and Alline powered up her PSI Beam Alpha. They fired at the zombies and defeated them both with one shot each. Then the group made a break for the ladder and climbed down when they reached it. It took almost a minute to reach the bottom, and when they reached the last rung they all jumped off the ladder and landed with a *thump!*. They were in a small, green cave chamber that had a door installed at the other end of the room.
Gustav ran over to the door and discovered that it was locked. He turned around to see the ladder rise upward through the ceiling. Then a light fixture was put in it's place.
"No! We're trapped!" Alline yelled.
"They must've known we would come…" Lou lost all hope and sat down.
"Don't give up! That door won't hold much against our PSI!" Alline said as she powered up her PSI Beam. "PSI Beam Alpha!" Her attack hit the door and caused the door to bend in half. Suddenly, the door bounced back and sent the attack right back. The beam hit Alline right in the forehead and she fell backward onto the ground. She hit the ground hard and didn't move.
"Is she…?"Lou said.
"It looks like it…" Gustav was shocked.
"OWWWW!!!" Alline suddenly got up and put her hands on her head. "That really STINGS!!!"
"You're okay!" Gustav hugged Alline tightly, but she shoved him away. "Why didn't that work?" Gustav asked.
"How should I know? Oh!" Alline was now in a bad mood.
"Let me try." Gustav got up and concentrated on his PSI Rockin. He put both hands forward and pulled together as much energy as he could.
"Wait! Something's not right!" Lou said as he tried to stop Gustav.
"PSI Rockin… Beta!" A swirling energy blasted out of Gustav's fingertips and nailed the door, making it bend outward into the next room. "Yes!" But the door snapped back and the energy filled the room and knocked everyone against the wall. Then they fell back to the ground, one at a time. Alline was unconscious, but Gustav and Lou were still able to move around, slightly.
"That door… has a PSI Shield around it…" Lou muttered.
"How did you know?" Gustav asked as he rolled onto his back.
"Paula just told me…" Lou passed out.
"Lou? Lou!" Gustav tried to look at Lou but he didn't have enough strength. "I can't believe I did this…"
Suddenly, the door opened and a zombie came in, smacking his lips. He looked over Lou and Alline, but when he came to Gustav he kept his distance. He glared angrily at him and gave Gustav a hard kick on the side.
"PSI Fire… Alpha!" Gustav mustered. The fire leapt from his hand and engulfed the zombie, making it return to the dust of the earth.
"Courageous. Even to the last. Just like Ness." A voice said.
"Who are you?" Gustav tried to yell, but he could only whisper.
"That doesn’t matter. I can have another zombie who is a more capable delivery person." Another zombie came in and picked up Alline. "She will have another use. You, however, will join my zombie army." The zombie breathed his ice-cold breath on Gustav so he wouldn't be able to attack. "Lou is useless. Throw him away, into a stream somewhere." Gustav received another kick, but this time in the head. His vision blurred and then his eyes closed.
The zombie picked up Lou as well, and left Gustav alone. Alline was taken to his superior while Lou was carried to the river near Saturn Valley. There, he was thrown in. The zombie then returned to Gustav and licked his lips with glee. But before he could bite, his superior called to him.
"I want to see this. This will be the turning point that will make our army invincible." The zombie carried Gustav to the headquarters and Gustav was placed on a table. "I need to set up a video camera was well." The person set up the camera and angled it onto Gustav. "On three. One… Oh wait. MY superior will want to see this grand event." The person walked over to a computer and played around with it for a few minutes until a face appeared on the screen.
"What do you want? Did they fall for that fake entrance?"
"Hook, line, and sinker. Only two could use PSI, so I disposed of the third."
"Good. Where is the girl?"
"She is going to assist the Peaceful Rest Valley group. Right here behind me is the other boy, the leader. He will lead the zombie army of Threed."
"Enough talk, Starman Jr., I want to see."
"I knew you would." The Starman Jr. rotated the screen and stepped out of the way.
"This is just like in the movies." The person in the screen shivered. "I feel like laughing an evil laugh, but that might can wait for now."
"On three." The Starman Jr. said.
"One…" The person in the computer screen muttered.
The zombie picked up Gustav's limp arm.
"Two…" The person uttered.
The zombie opened his mouth.
"No!" Gustav's arm suddenly lurched out of the zombie's grip. Gustav rolled off the table and then stood up and put one hand forward. "Don't move a muscle, or I'll fry all of you!"
"You're attack won't be enough to defeat me." The Starman Jr. said.
"In that case… PSI Fire Alpha!" A flash of fire erupted from Gustav's hand and scorched the room until nearly everything was reduced to burning cinders. But the Starman Jr. had taken the hit and hardly showed any signs of damage.
"Like I said." The Starman Jr. attacked with PSI Freeze Alpha and froze Gustav in a block of ice. "Your attack won't be enough to defeat me." The Starman Jr. pushed the block of ice through the base until he reached a freezer that stored all the TV dinners and frozen pizzas that the zombies liked so much. The Starman Jr. left Gustav in there for safe keeping until he could think of what he should do with him. After half an hour of resting, the Starman Jr. contacted his superior again.
"What happened? Did Gustav escape?"
"No. He managed to defeat another zombie--"
"You've lost hundreds of zombies in only a single day! I won't tolerate any more losses!"
"I captured Gustav and froze him solid. I disposed of the useless one, and Alline is already on her way to you."
"At least that part of the plan is going right. But don't think that we can slack off, now that the seven 'thorns' in our side have been taken care of. Keep an eye on Lou and make sure he doesn’t survive the trip downstream."
"Yes sir."
