Oops! How fast would you like the text to be? Actually the only speed is super-quad-giga-terra-mega-omega-fast, which appears as you load. Now for the color of your window; the flavors are peanut, strawberry, lime, and plain… I guess we only have plain today. Now for the name of the characters, and since this is the best part I will do it for you! Main character is named… piggy jelly! Just kidding! I'll name him Gustav for you. It is pronounced "Goo-stahv." Now I will hide the screen as I name the other people. How about your dog? I will name him King for you. Thank you for paying me for starting your game (author takes $50 from your pocket and sends it to Starmen.net). Have fun!

The year is 202X…

Fiveson, a large town in Winters…

Gustav's House…

As Gustav slept soundly in his bed, a strange craft landed in the woods nearby with a loud *crash!*, *boing!* and a huge *ka-booom!*, and woke everyone around for miles. Gustav quickly got up and stumbled through his messy room until he found the door. He pushed it open and turned on the lights in the hallway and saw his younger brother wandering around.
"Wow. Did you hear that? It sounds like a big plane crashed in the woods. I bet you were freaked out!" Gustav didn't have time to reply as he went downstairs. His mother was already down there, and she had been watching TV and eating greasy popcorn when it happened.
"What a night! My soap opera got to the steamy part and then the satellite dish conks out! Maybe we should have gotten cable instead." Then she noticed that Gustav was hurrying to the front door. "I guess you can go out since this is the most exciting thing that has happened since the invention of the wheel (pun), so you shouldn't miss it. You might want to get into something warmer, though it isn't that chilly outside." Gustav nodded and ran upstairs to get dressed. He searched for his pair of short-cut jeans and his blue cap and found them under his pillow. Then he found his favorite green and blue striped shirt in the closet and looked for something to defend himself with. After searching among the gigantic wasteland of junk for at least a minute without success, he gave up. Gustav went outside after promising to tell his sibling about what had caused the crash.
The woods was dark but the lights from the police cars lit up the area with red and blue flashes. The smell of burning metal and grass had mixed with the aromas of the pine trees, making Gustav's nose twitch. People were everywhere. Paramedics, policemen, neighbors, and even animals had come to see what the trouble was.
A man right outside the roadblock was pacing impatiently as police car lights flashed on the road. "ROAD BLOCKS??!!!" He yelled. "I MOVED HERE FROM ONETT TO GET AWAY FROM THESE ROAD BLOCKS AND THEY FOLLOWED ME HERE!!!" Gustav ignored him and ran toward the dark woods as fast as he could. He knew where to go since a large, black cloud had begun to rise from the forest. When he almost reached the crash site he discovered that the police had beat him there, along with a red-haired kid who was trying desperately to force the police get out of the way.
The paramedics were taking away a strange woman on a stretcher and she kept saying "Hey! You're parking meters and you're staggering about!" and stuff like that. Gustav tried to get sneak through too, but the policemen just threw him aside along with the red-haired kid. The policemen are a bit more brutal the farther north you travel. Perhaps it's the cold. The red-haired kid sat up and jutted out his bottom lip.
"Why can't we see what it is? Why can't we go through the roadblocks?" He pouted.
"Why don't you shut up!!!" Yelled one of the policemen and the kid did just that. One of the policemen opened the trunk of one of the cars and started eating frosted donuts and washed them down macho mochas.
"I have an idea, kid." The red-haired boy whispered. "How about we wait here until they leave?" Gustav said "no" at first but then the read-haired kid said "That's fine, but don't come crying back to me when you want to know what was up there." Gustav finally agreed to stay. They hid behind a tall fir tree and sat down in the dense bushes. After a few minutes of watching the policemen snack on coffee and donuts, Gustav began to worry about what his mother was thinking. The red-haired boy saw the look on Gustav's face and sighed. "I'll tell you when they leave. Just head back to your mom so you don't get grounded." Gustav smiled and thanked the kid. Gustav got up and hurried home, just as his mother was about to call his name.
"I was getting worried." Gustav's mother hugged him. "I guess the police always get to things like this first. Maybe they will tell us what that is on the news." Gustav went to the kitchen and ate some of the left over mashed potatoes from dinner and then he went back to bed.
During the night, some of the people in town began to lose control of their minds and started to riot. The police were called into town to stop the menace and they left the roadblocks open as they left. The red-haired boy watched them leave and waited until all of them were gone. But when he began to run to the crash site, but he stopped.
"What am I doing? I promised him… but I don't usually keep promises. What the heck! What harm could he do?" The red-haired kid turned around and ran to Gustav's house. Gustav was tossing and turning in his sleep. Gustav was having a horrible nightmare about something controlling the people of the nearby town. The red-haired kid thought of knocking, but then he decided to throw a rock at the window instead. There weren't many rocks around but he did find a rather large one. He heaved it at the window but it landed on the ground with a *thump* only a few feet away. Gustav suddenly woke up because his nightmare had gotten worse and he opened the window for air just as another rock flew right into his room and barely missed Gustav.
"Come on! They just left!" The red-haired kid yelled. Gustav quickly got dressed and placed a note on his pillow for his mother. Then he slid down the gutter on the side of the house to the soft ground below. "Lets hurry!"
Gustav and Lou (Lou is the red-haired kid, but his real name is Ludovicus. He preferred Lou for obvious reasons) finally reached the crash site and gaped at what they saw. Entire trees had been knocked down, and most of standing trees around were covered with burn marks. They looked in the center of the now-cleared area and saw a pile of twisted wreckage. The fires had been put out but the metal was still white-hot. Gustav and Lou circled the metal but they didn't find anything interesting. They wanted to stay there for a bit longer, but they started to see brief flashes of blue and red light between the trees, telling them the police were coming back. They both hurried out of the woods and back to Gustav's house before the policemen found them. Lou waved goodbye and put his hands in his pockets and walked slowly to town. When Gustav got back into bed, a strange voice came to him. At first he was alarmed but something about the voice calmed him down.
"(Gustav… Gustav… I am a friend that you have never met before… I am in the hospital… I am a friend you have never met before… help me…)"
Gustav listened for more but he decided that the person was either took weak to continue, or that was all he or she wanted to say. Gustav slid into his covers and quickly fell asleep. That morning he got up and talked with his mom about the voice. She hugged Gustav couldn't help but shed a tear.
"I knew that you were always meant to go on a journey… but I didn't think it would be so soon." Gustav's mother suddenly stood up. " Well then, it is settled! Take the Air bat from your brother's room and find out whom these friends are. But if one is a girl be sure to introduce her okay?" Gustav hurried upstairs and borrowed the bat, and his brother gave him a little cookie for the trip as well. Gustav hugged his mother and hurried out the door. Then he came back in when he remembered he was still in his Pj's. After getting dressed, he talked with his mother one last time before he left.
"Remember! You are now growing up, but don't forget you are my son, so call often!" Just as she giggled at her joke, the phone rang. It was Gustav's father. Gustav hadn't ever seen his father before, but he heard him in the phone often. He told Gustav to "Go for it!" and he promised to save money as well in case Gustav needed it.
Gustav walked to the door and turned around to look around his home one last time. His mother smiled, his brother waved frantically, and his dog sneezed. Then Gustav left his lifelong home to investigate the voice and he unknowingly began his epic journey.
