Chapter 4: Stray of the Story

The Gel Thriller Man Took out two very large knives.
"I am Frank. Leader of the SHARKS! WHat business do you have with me?" He asked, grinning.
"Um, well... Actually I don't know. I'm just supposed to beat you up. So, here we go!" Nesss retorted. He drew his bat and readied for battle.

Frank was the first to be hit- he dixcovered the pain of having wood splinters in your cheeks. He never stopped grinning, and it was messing with Ness' mind. He got all confused and scared at the grin that was drawing him to his doom- which it surely did. Frank grabbed the knives he had dropped and laughed crazily as he thrust one through the strap on Ness' backpack and into his flesh. Ness saw dots. He felt cold. Blood had stopped pumping in his veins. His shirt was slowly turning red. He became weak and collapsed to the ground. BuzzBuzz stood in horror.

Ness was dead.

Ness felt himself leave his body. The world around him blurred and darkened. He saw Tracy, his mother, and King weeping. They were bent down over a tombstone. Engraved on it was Ness' own name. He felt an endless dread sweep over his spirit. The darkness around him seemed to bleed. As the image of his family faded away, he was surrounded by red and black, sweeping around lazily. Fear took control of Ness' spirit. It was cold. Very cold. Ness stood still, joints stiff, peering off a cliff into a deep, dark, swirling abyss. It seemed to call to him, "Ness...... Come down to me." Ness felt his eyes roll back as he, powerless to defend himself, dropped limply off the cliff into the swirling chasm. Muffled laughs pierced his mind as the abyss flashed colors. He realized something.

"My dream.... It's my dream. Am I dreaming?"
"Noooooo... Ness....NessNessNessNessNessNessNessNessNessNessNess.... You cannot understand the true power of Giygas' attack!" The abyss called to him. Ness mind felt as if it was being ripped apart. He fell to the bottom of the cliff. He saw a small beam of light fall to the ground revealing three children- A girl and two boys. Ness tried to call out, but the abyss removed him of his mouth. He lay limp on the ground listening to the cries of the children.

"Ness.... Help us...... We're trapped.... we neeeed..... yoooouuuuuuu....."

Everything inverted it's color. The endless abyss swirled into a shape. It was a flaming head, staring sadly into Ness' heart. It's eyes focused and mirrored Ness' shape. Giygas screamed. Ness was in incomprehensible pain. The shattered form of Giygas shouted.

"Niiiiiightmaaaaareeee rooooooockkkkk... sssssssooooooouuuuunnnnd.......ggggggggIIIIIIVVVVVVVEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Ness felt blood rush into his body. He was hurled back into the corpse lying behind the arcade. He saw his entire life flash before his eyes, but his last few moments were distorted. A shrill beep and a feeling of the loss of order sent Ness back. Frank was on the ground, unconscious. A robot lay broken beneath him. Ness was standing, holding his bat. BuzzBuzz had a look of awe upon his face.

"How did you do that? You beat them! You ARE the Chosen One! Excellent fight!" BuzzBuzz did not know what happened to Ness. He looked dazed and confused. He pulled the Sound Stone out of his pocket. On it's shining surface displayed the memory of Ness. He gave it to BuzzBuzz.

"Place it on your forehead.... gather your thoughts."

BuzzBuzz used the SoundStone's power and discovered all that Ness had been through. he drpped it.

"My...God...."
"What happened, BuzzBuzz? Do you know what that was?"
"Something happened that shouldn't have..... He changed something."
"What do you mean?"
"Somehow... He went into the past.... How did he change? Prophecy never foresaw this...."
"Who?"
"Giygas... he... somehow... changed Prophecy. He is in the past now. He altered our present somehow.... The other Chosen ones.... They're trapped. The Sanctuarial Guardians.....
"Giygas.... how did he do this? He captured the others and guarded the first Sanctuary so well... You cannot break through them...."
"But there must be a way..."
Gathering.... Ness! They're at Giant step! We must hurry!"

They dashed off to Step Cave. They were blocked by a cabin.
"Ness... now is your time to shine. You obviously are horrible at spoken Psi.... Gather your thoughts. Try to feel yourself casting it. Think.... Ness, what is your favorite thing?"
Ness closed his eyes and pointed to the cabin.
"We must hurry! They are in danger!"
"Psi......Rockin...... ALPHA!" Rainbow colored light exploded from Ness' body and detonated, covering a wide area around him. Red, yellow, and blue rain drifted down. It was Rockin. The attack settled, the cabin flattened. They dashed into the cave. CLimbing ropes and running like madmen, Ness and BuzzBuzz reached the lair of Titantic Ant, the first Sanctuarial Guardian.

What horror was the reality of what they saw....
