It was a morning like any other. Ness woke up and had breakfast. He called his dad, out of habit. Then he changed out of his PJs and got ready for school.
And that's when the UFO landed on his front lawn.
Ness felt his heart skip a beat as he looked out the window. "Could it be.. Pokey?" he wondered out loud. "Or Giygas?" Grabbing his bat, he ran downstairs to find out. Maybe it was his lucky day, they'd be friendly..
Just as he reached the front door, Ness saw a ramp fold down from the round UFO. A blue, humanoid bird walked out and looked around.
"Ah, geez," he said, spotting Ness's crushed mailbox. Turning around, he called into the UFO, "I told you to let me park!"
"Um, 'scuse me." Ness drew the bird's attention back to him. "Who are you?"
"Your name Ness?" demanded the bird without a hint of politeness.
"Uhh.. yeah."
"Get in the ship, kid."
Ness took a step back, raising his bat to an offensive position.
The bird sighed. "Look, kid, we can do this the easy way or the hard way. Either you get in the ship now, or I have to make you. Get it?"
A confused expression passed over Ness's face. "Where are we going?"
"You find out when we get there."
"Well, in that case, I'm afraid I'm going to have to refuse." Ness turned to step back into the house.
Suddenly, he felt hands grabbing his shoulders. And then he was flying through the air.
"Woaah!" Using his psychic powers, Ness leapt in the thin air, then dropped on top of the UFO. The bird must've thrown him. He started to charge a PK Flash attack. Before he could release it, the bird was in front of him, glowing bluer than before.
WOOSH! Ness felt the whole body of the bird pass through his before being knocked into the air again. Alright, if that was the way he wanted it.. Ness pointed his hands forward and shouted "PK FIRE!" Bolts of flame spurted from his fingertips. It was a good thing he'd spent time learning new PSI skills from Paula and Poo recently; he wasn't sure any of his other powers would've done the trick there.
The bird was tossed back and forth by the pillar of fire that had grown around him. Ness brandished his bat, in case the toasting wasn't enough for this absurd avian.
He heard a growling behind him. A sound, like energy powering up.
He turned around.
A man in ancient-looking black armour punched Ness with a glowing fist.
Ness flew back unconscious.
When he awoke, Ness could feel cold metal under his body. Taking in his surroundings, he figured he had been dragged aboard the ship while he was knocked out. Darn it all!
A few voices caught his attention; the bird from before, and another, deeper voice. It sounded like an argument.
"Ah, shaddup! I wasn't trying to knock him out!" said the bird.
"And what were you doing?" sneered the deeper voice. "Playing with him? More words? You know those are ineffective. A display of power should have been enough."
"Oh, yeah, landing on his mailbox wasn't enough. We should've blasted out his windows, too."
Ness shifted around and discovered that he could see the two figures seated at a navigation computer. Yep, it was the duo who assaulted him. They must've tossed him into this cargo area, thinking he'd sleep through the trip. He began to crawl towards the corridor entrance.
BZZZZAP!! Ness pulled a hand back in surprise. Some kind of force field had stopped him from escaping. He sighed; looked like he was in a cell, after all.
The disturbance didn't escape the two aliens, if aliens they were. The man in black swiveled his chair around. "Well, well, the kid wakes up. Heh, heh, heh." Ness didn't like his chuckle. He sounded... evil, cliche as it was.
"Know where you're going to, kid?" the man asked. Ness shook his head 'no'. "You're going to the Headquarters!" said the man, positively grinning with diabolical happiness.
Ness shied back from the force field. He was kind of glad that it kept people out as well as in. He also wondered what the Headquarters could be.
"Yo, HQ, this is Falco and Ganondorf. Mission accomplished. Docking in 15 minutes."
Sounded to Ness like he'd soon find out.
