The year is 200X. It has been 5 years since the evil plan of Giygas was vanquished. Ness returned to Onett a celebrity. In fact, a statue was erected in his honor, and he was on top of the world. But, as with all things, the peace did not last forever. It all truly began one day when Ness was watching the news. "After severe rain in the Grapefruit Falls region, the lower portion of Saturn Valley has flooded. Not only has this greatly troubled the inhabitants, but it has also made travel to the region impossible."

"Hmmm..." Ness thought.

2 days later, Ness saw another news flash. "Residents of Winters, especially of the Tessie-Watching Club, got a big shock today. As they prepared to open the Tessie Ferry System for the day, a Kraken rose out of the water. The Bubble Monkey who was summoning Tessie was nearly eaten alive. One member of the Tessie-Watching Club fears the Kraken ate Tessie. So far there is no explanation as to how the Kraken got there, or how it manages to survive through the subzero temperatures."

"Interesting." Ness pondered.

It was 4 days after the first news report that the true adventure began. Once again, we meet Ness as he watches the news. "It was a dark day over the skies of Onett. In the late afternoon, a U.F.O. was spotted hovering over Town Hall. It made its way over the statue of local hero, Ness. Then, it shot a beam that destroyed the statue while making no lateral damage. We can only wonder what this means and whether or not the past few days phenomena have anything to do with the visitors."

"Something's up. I better round up the group."

Ness grabed the Legendary Bat he got as a gift from his favorite baseball player Brick Slugger for saving the world. Then, he went outside and decided to go to Winters for Jeff first. In an instant, he was teleported right next to the Winters Drugstore. He pulled out a winter coat from his backpack and drew it tight. Then he began his southward trek.

It wasn't long before he reached a cluster of tents; the unmistakeable HQ of the Tessie-Watching Club. He went into the tent labeled "Bubble Monkey Depot".

"One please." Ness said to the clerk.

"50 bucks, but what are you gonna do with it? Ever since we found that Kraken in the lake, we haven't seen hide nor hair of Tessie."

Ness slapped his forehead, "Oh, that's right! How can I get to South Winters?"

The clerk started putting food in the monkey cages behind him as he spoke, "I'd like to know that myself. No one's been able to get there without Tessie." Ness walked outside and then thought:
I'll go get Poo! He was always better at teleporting than me. Maybe he can take us directly to South Winters." So, Ness teleported to Dalaam.

Once in Dalaam, Ness went directly to the palace. Due to his status, he was allowed entry with no resistance. When he reached the main chamber, the master was asleep in the throne,

Ness approached cautiously, "Sir?"

"Wha-? Who? Who is it?" the master sprung awake.

"It is Ness."
***
"Ah! Greetings Ness. You are always welcome here. Would you like lodging?"

"No, actually, I was looking for Poo."
***
The master wrinkled his brow, "The prince is vacationing in Saturn Valley. It is his final training exercise before becoming King of Dalaam."

"Thanks." Ness bolted back outside. "Hey wait. If i remember right, you can't get to Saturn Valley due to floods. Better not waste my PP. I'll just go to Twoson and get Paula I guess." So with 8 more PP, Ness went to Twoson.

Ness headed straight to Polestar Preschool. When he went inside, no one was in the preschool room; it was after all a Sunday. What was odd was that no one was in the next room either. He ascended the stairs, and in this room he found a note on the floor.

Dear Ness,

In case you haven't noticed, you friends are gone. The chosen four are not so strong individually. Paula has been kidnapped, but not into the bumbling hands of Carpainter or Monotoli. Jeff's home cannot be reached due to the Kraken in Lake Tess. And, Poo's vacation spot has become a river. Believe it or not, you are supposed to be dead. The Destroy-O-Bot I sent out mistaked the statue of you for you. However, my plan will still succeed, and the earth will be mine.

Ness ran into Paula's room. The lights were off. He found the switch and flipped it on. No one was in the room, but on the far wall was a message of red spraypaint. The cryptic writing read: "Giygas has returned!"
