Ness is Lost!
An EarthBound Story

Paula just got home from the department store with her new Runaway Five CD. She heard the phone ring. She answered the phone,
"Hello?"
"Hi Paula, It's me, Ness's mom."
"Oh hi. How are you?"
"Oh fine, but have you seen Ness? He's been gone for quite a while..."
"No I haven't, but I'll look out for him. Who knows, he might be halfway around the world by now."
"Well if you see him tell him to come home right away."
"Okay, I'll talk to you later!"
Paula thought about using her telepathy, but she knew Ness would be okay. ______________________________________________________________________________
Two days later, it was raining. Paula was watching TV with the Polestar kids. As she flipped through the channels, she saw a picture of Ness on the news. The reporter explained, "14 year old Ness has been gone for over 48 hours. If you find him, please call the Onett Police. Here is Dr. Frink to tell us why a 14 year old boy would run away..."
Paula knew Ness wouldn't run away. She decided to go out and find Ness. She first used her telepathy to find Ness, but there was no response. She then decided to call Jeff. Ness and Jeff were good friends. She thought maybe Jeff could help her. Paula picked up the phone to call SnowWood School.
"Hello! Maxwell Labs!"
"Is Jeff there?" asked Paula.
Maxwell replied, "Oh um, Jeff is very busy with a huge invention of his. But I'll tell him to call you when he has the time. See you... "
Paula had one hope left. It was to call Poo. She ran up to her room and concentrated on calling Poo. "Poo! It's me, Paula! You must help. Ness is lost. We must find him. If you hear this message, PLEASE come to Twoson immediately!" She then ran outside. The rain pattered everywhere. Suddenly she saw Poo swoop down from the sky. "Whew! Hello Paula. I'll be happy to assist you in finding Ness."
"All right! Um, what do we do first?" Poo was silent in thought. The two friends decided to walk around Twoson to think. As they walked they met Apple kid. "Hey you guys! Come on in! You don't want to be in the rain don't you?"
"So guys, what's up?"
Poo replied, "Ness is lost."
"He is? Hmmmm..." Paula said,
"I tried calling him mentally, but it seemed to be absorbed by, something. I tried to get a hold of Jeff but Maxwell said he was inventing some revolutionary invention. Do you know anything about this Apple Kid?"
"Um, sort of. He said it was top secret."
Poo said, "Is there any way we can find the area where Ness is?"
Apple Kid said excitedly, "Yes! Yes there is! I've made an invention that can find anyone in any location!"
Paula exclaimed, "Apple Kid! Why don't you give it to the police or something? Think of all the missing people they could find..."
"Well yes, but it can only find 5 certain people. You guys, Jeff, Dr. Andonuts, and...Ness." Poo cried, "Excellent! Hurry! We must find Ness!"
Apple kid pulled the machine out of the closet. "Okay you guys, this is going to use a lot of power." He plugged it in and all the lights in Twoson Flickered and went out, and flickered back on. Apple Kid typed, and turned many dials. "Hmm, interesting..."
"What is it?" asked Paula.
"It seems that he is trapped in another era. His health seems fine, but his PSI powers are being drained by a much more powerful, yet normal...Thing."
"In another era?" thought Poo. "Powerful, yet normal?" Poo pondered the situation.
Paula exclaimed, "Hurry! We have to go there! Who knows what that thing is doing to Ness!"
Apple Kid replied, "Paula, it's much too dangerous. You have no idea what that thing might do to you. And-"
"I don't care! Ness is our friend. He fought beside us, and now we'll fight for him!"
Poo's eyes grew big, "I KNOW WHO THAT THING IS!" Apple Kid and Paula both asked, "Who?"
"It's that Pokey. He took Ness! Now he must be draining him of his PSI powers! If Pokey gets a hold of those powers, who knows what might happen!"
Paula said, "You’re right Poo! Let's go defeat Pokey once and for all! That wuss will pay big time!"
"But Paula, He is infinitely stronger than you. But you have set your minds on this. I'll transport you to the era. I'll tell Jeff to come if he can..."
"Good," said Poo "Apple kid, send us to the era!"
"Okay. Paula, Poo, step into this pod right here. You have 1 hour earth time to save Ness and possibly defeat Pokey. Good luck to you!"
The pod shimmered and Paula and Poo were transported to the Lost Era. When they arrived they noticed that it looked much similar to the place were they fought Giygas. Except it was much darker and more...evil. The two friends had no idea where they were going. But somehow they felt as if they were being guided by something. After much walking, they came to an immense wall. A dead end.
"NO!" cried Paula "He has to be here! He just has to be!" Suddenly the ground shook. Glorious rays of light filled the entire area! The area seemed to spin. Poo pulled out the Sword of Kings and was prepared to battle. Paula didn’t have her weapon, but was on guard for whatever was coming. Finally they saw their arch enemy Pokey.
"Why look, it's the losers! What are your names? Pig's Butt? The retarded losers? Ahhh yes I remember, Paula and Poo. Where's that dork Jeff. Ahhh who cares. You’re probably looking for your loser friend Ness. He's here. See?" He pointed to a cage type area behind him. In the cage was Ness fighting with all he had to try to get out. He looked like a ghost.
Paula yelled, "Let him go you jerk!"
"Yes, release him. Or we shall do the same to you as we did to Giygas."
"HA HA HA HA! YOU morons! You can't defeat me! Soon I shall have control of PSI. And you will be destroyed! C'mon! Let's go! If you're that foolish!"
Poo and Paula were ready for battle. They first tried all the alpha PSI they had. It didn't seem to even phase Pokey. He was more armed than ever. Instead, he copycatted the attacks and deflected them. Paula and Poo got right to the point, and used all OMEGA PSI. The attacks again deflected at them. Poo healed Paula and himself. Paula even tried SHIELD omega and the attacks still harmed them. Paula could no longer concentrate on PSI. Poo used the last of his PSI for healing.
Paula gasped, "You-won't- win. And vooo-"
"PAULA!" exclaimed Poo, "Pokey, maybe PSI won't harm you, but you can't outlast my sword! AHHHHHHH!" Poo slashed Pokey with all he had.
"AAAAARRRRGHHH!" cried Pokey. The sword damaged Pokey heavily. But it made Poo's sword disappear. "YOU THINK THAT WILL DESTROY ME! I THINK I'LL TAKE YOUR PSI AS WELL! HA HA HA HA!"
Poo thought to himself, "My training has failed. I am a disgrace. What can help us now?" Just as Pokey was about to fire his main artillery, Jeff rushed into the area! Without hesitation, he used his new invention! Poo and Paula were revitalized from the rays of the machine! Jeff turned another dial, and lightning filled the area! The lightning destroyed Pokey's shield. It also revived Ness and his PSI.
Pokey cried, "NOOOOO! Well that's it for now guys. But it’s not over yet. See you..." He pushed an abort button and vanished into thin air. Ness jumped out of the cage.
"Ness! Your alright!" cried Paula. She hugged Ness. Suddenly there was a huge earthquake and the place crumbled.
"Apple Kid! Come in! Beam us back to Earth! NOW!" exclaimed Jeff. The four friends huddled together and were transported back to Twoson.
"You guys all right? Ness! You're back!" said Apple Kid.
Paula asked, "Jeff, how did you do it?"
Jeff replied, "I was just making a machine that could penetrate ultra gravity and radio cosmic waves. When I came to Apple Kids house I realized that's what Pokey was using to destroy Ness. But I knew Ness would be okay."
Ness said, "Ugghhh yeah."
Poo asked, "Ness, how did you fall into this predicament?"
"Well I was going to Paula's house when I saw a note on her door. It said to, 'GO TO ORANGE KID'S HOUSE NESS'! So I did. I opened the door and saw no one home. The next thing I knew was that I fell into a portal, and was in a cage with Pokey holding me hostage. I don't think that's the last time we'll see Pokey."
The friends agreed and would be more prepared. Poo said, "Let's go to Dalaam. We shall celebrate Ness's return. You can come too, Apple Kid." Apple Kid smiled. Ness replied, "Thanks Poo, but I think I should go home first." All five got together at Ness’s house. They were prepared more than ever for upcoming events. Nothing could stop them.
