Chaotic Times: Part II Chapter 5: The Golden Elephant

The Golden Elephant stood outside of the palace. It was eternally frozen in its position, forever triumphant. Raised above all else, it saw everything. And it knew what it saw. It saw a flash by the sun, it saw a blur past a cloud, and it saw a fiery color before the ones in front of it did. Then, the ones in front saw nothing. The elephant wasn't scared. The elephant was angry, and the elephant was brave. Dalaam raised its alarms. The elephant trumpeted, for it WAS the alarm. Men, dressed in golden armor cast their blazing PSI at the raging steel, but still it was powerful. Many more men saw nothing, and the elephant began to see red. Red of the dead men, red of the fire, and red of the rage. The elephant knew that it was no longer golden and beautiful, but burnt and mangled, but still, the elephant was brave. Stars from the remaining men's fingers brutally beat the steel, and the steel flew jerkily, but it made more fire, and more men fell. The elephant knew that the pink cloud was sagging with flames, knew that the land of the sky was falling, but it was brave. It knew that it was no more an elephant, but a mound of burnt gold, but it was brave. Even as it hit the ground and ceased to see, and ceased to know, it was brave.

Chapter 6: Saturn Armies

Ness awoke with a large nose, several whiskers, and a bow above him, sitting in a trash can. "Mr. Saturn?" he mumbled, getting up and rubbing his head.

"I say yes to you, Mr. Ness!" called a nasal voice from beneath the bulbous nose. Ness suddenly became aware of Saturn war drums, and remembered Dalaam. He ran outside to see Paula, Jeff, and Poo gathered outside the Saturn hut.

"Guys! What's going on? Are the Saturns at war?" asked Ness.

"Not yet. They're training under Poo," answered Jeff.

"Dalaam was completely destroyed, as were its people, all except for Poo. He's began raising an army to defeat our counterparts, not to mention..."

"Their army," said Poo, finishing Paula's sentence with a monotone voice. Two Mr.Saturns clashed their sword-bows loudly against their opponent's armored whiskers.

"Their army of what?" asked Ness, raising an eyebrow.

"Their army of... things," said Jeff. "They appear to be human, but just too... backwards. They speak in a sort of civilized language, but sound like a backwards record, except with no subliminal (POKEYISFAT) messages. They have a few generals, too. Rohc is the name of one, the nearest one. Actually, he came through Threed a few minutes ago."

"But that means he'll be here any time!" cried Ness.

"Exactly," said Poo, his eyes shimmering with tears of fury. Poo unsheathed a dagger and threw it off to his left. It drove almost all the way to the hilt through a barricade of wood and stone. "When the barricade begins to shake, we assemble our Saturns. They'll be of much help. Mid-battle, we will be recieving back-up from the Dusty Dunes Desert, and enclose the enemy in a pincer attack." A mid-sized Mr.Saturn, fully decked out and armed to the nose ran up beside Poo and squeaked,

"I am General Saturn, but person name Froy. I made attack plan." Froy ran to the left and called quite loudly, "Saturn! Assemble!" Every Mr.Saturn in Saturn Valley ran to their posts. There were bomb and rock throws above, slingshotters behind rocks, and swordbowers in the front. The barricade boomed, and the sound of a million Saturn warcries filled the valley.

Chapter 7: Enter Rohc

All was chaos for a moment, as all air was taken up by projectiles, and when it cleared, the barricade was gone, and a few creatures fell, Saturn and Nam, the backwards men. Rohc stepped forward. He was dressed in black clothing and a red hood, with a Giygas emblem on the front. He stepped through the crowd as if it was a field of daisies, never having to stop for battles going on in front of him. There was nothing particularly remarkable about him, but was just... unnatural. Ness couldn't help being afraid. Suddenly, Poo drew his sword and rushed forward. Rohc leaped with Poo, never ceasing to smile. Their swords, clashed with blinding light, and for a second, they were frozen in mid-air. Both swords glanced off out of their owner's hands. Poo and Rohc landed and got in karate stances. Ness lost his fear and stepped forward, but Poo struck him with a backhand and growled, "This is my battle." Poo dashed forward with speed enough to create smoke on the ground, and thrust his arm in front of Rohc, pushing his head down, and flipped him. Rohc landed on his feet and delivered a openhanded punch to Poo's chest, followed by a light jab to the forehead, knocking Poo back. Rohc spoke.

"Small child, you cannot hurt me. You are the fly trying to kill a spider." Rohc's voice wasn't a voice at all. There was no tone quality, no words. Rohc spoke in pure meaning. Rohc drew a dagger and stabbed Poo with it, in one fluid moment. With that, he left, leaving Poo gasping for air. The Goden Elephant trumpeted one last time, for Poo, Prince of Dalaam, was dead. The Golden Elephant shone again, and took form. It was now a figure of Prince Poo, the Sword of Kings that had fallen at the Golden Elephant's feet was now in Poo's hands. Prince Poo stood, and Prince Poo saw, and Prince Poo knew. Prince Poo was brave, in life, and in death.
