The time is the year 200X. Ness and his friends have just returned from defeating Giygas, and it is now Christmas time. So, of course, Ness's mother puts up a Christmas tree, and Ness is having fun outside, in a snowball fight with Paula. All of a sudden, green lights flashed out of Ness's house, and then they went out.

"What was that?" asked Paula.

Ness replied, "I don't know. Let's go check it out."

The two rush into the house, and everything is fine. But what was the mysterious, green flash? Ness and Paula check around the house. Ness's mom comes in, and says, "Our Christmas tree seems...bigger than when we first got it. I don't know why." Ness and Paula ponder this for a while, but they shake it off, and go outside to make a snowman.

After Paula went home, and Ness went to bed, Frank was walking by when he saw some green lights flashing out the window of Ness's house. Frank goes and looks through the window.

"Wow!" Frank thought, "These people have a HUGE Christmas tree!" Frank kept walking, unaware of the danger at hand.

Ness gets up on Christmas day, and goes up to his Christmas tree, which is now bursting through the celing. Ness grabs his Legendary bat, from the cave of the Past, and notices a gift box is moving. Actually, he then notices ALL of the gift boxes are moving! Out of the gift boxes come Worthless Protoplasms. These Worthless Protoplasms jump out the window, and go off to terrorize Onett.

Ness's Christmas tree starts to shake. Then it stops. Then it shakes some more, and out of the Christmas Tree comes Pokey in his Spider Thingy!

"Hahahahaha! You think you are sooo powerful and strong and smart and...um...and...what's that word..."

"Brave." Ness says.

"Oh yeah, that's it. Well, I've come to end your pitiful game!" Pokey evily laughs, and grasps Ness in the spider thingy's tentacles.

"Hold it!" Ness's sister, Tracy, enters the scene, and says, "I have a Tiny Ruby!"

Pokey says, "What good will that do you? It's just a small gem! It can't hurt me!"

"Well," says Tracy, "I was just trying to make the story more Earthbound-a-licious. Oh well..." Tracy runs off.

Pokey then says, "Now, I've got you Ness! Hahahahahahahahahaha!" Pokey starts to squeeze Ness harder.

All of a sudden, some guys rushed into the room! It was the Runaway Five! Lucky ducked behind the robot, and flipped the switch from "Off" to "On". The Spider Thingy Stopped moving! Pokey jumped out of the Spider thingy, and cries, "Wahhhhhh!! You guys are mean!!!!!"

Ness's mom comes in and says, "I knew I shouldn't have bought a Christmas Tree from Googi Enterprises..."
