King of Fighters '9X: Chapter One

Ness was sleeping through the day, as he usually did during the weekend, when he was awakened by Tracy. "Big brooooother!!!" Tracy yelled, "Wake up, mom said you have to take me into town!" Ness grumbled and escorted Tracy out of the room so that he could put on his regular clothes.
He went downstairs to greet his mom and have breakfast. Today's meal was some eggs, bacon, and waffles. Ness went and set the table for him, his mom, and Tracy. Soon, breakfast was ready and everyone began to dig in.
"Hey Tracy, why do you want to go to town so badly?" Ness asked. "Didn't you hear? The King of Fighters tournament is going to be held here!!!" Tracy replied. "Since when were you into fighting tournaments?" Ness asked with a raised eyebrow. "Since I heard about Terry Bogard. He's single, ya know."
Ness let out a loud laugh. "I don't think that you should start looking for boyfriends at this age."
Soon, breakfast was finished and it was time to go. "Take care of your little sister," Ness's mom said quietly so that Tracy wouldn't hear, "I don't want you losing her in the crowd."
"Mom!" Tracy yelled, "I'm not a little kid anymore!"
Ness's mom laughed and gave both of them a kiss on the cheek. "And Ness, those crowds at tournaments can get a little rowdy, so I think you should take your bat." Ness's mom handed Ness his Legendary Bat. "Thanks mom," Ness said.
They left the house and headed towards City Hall where the fights were going to be held. A few of the fighters were hanging around and signing autographs.
Tracy began to drag Ness around in her search for Terry Bogard. They began to ask a few of the fighters where he might be. Their first choice was Joe Higashi, a fellow member of the Fatal Fury team, who was practicing his kickboxing on a tree.
"Mr. Higashiiii!" Tracy yelled, "Mr. Higashiiiii!!!"
Joe stopped practicing to see who was calling his name and found Tracy jumping up and down behind him. "Hey there," he said, "You want an autograph from the greatest fighter on the face of the earth? A picture maybe? I never thought that I had so many young fans!"
"Where's Terry?"
Joe let out a small growl and pointed towards the spot where Terry was sitting. Tracy ran towards Terry and began to shreik crazily.
"Mr. Bogard I can't believe its you oh my gosh I never thought I'd meet you you're such a hunk and I'm your biggest fan and you're the greatest fighter in the world next to my brother but you're really close and oh my gosh will you please marry me," Tracy yelled out.
Terry smiled. "Well, I can't marry you, but I can give you an autograph and a picture."
Tracy smiled and nodded her head. "I brought my camera Mr. Bogard!"
"Great," Terry said with a smile, "Then let's go."
Tracy ran over to Ness. "Big broooother! I need you take a picture of me with Terry!"
Before he could respond, Tracy handed Ness the camera and began to run back To Terry. "Say cheese!" Tracy yelled. Ness snapped the photo.
Tracy ran over and took the photo that came out of the camera and began to jump up and down. "Wait until everybody at school hears about this! Wait a second... Mr. Bogard!!!"
Tracy ran up to Terry and asked for an autograph. "Do you have a pen?" Terry asked. "Tracy realized that she had forgotten to take pen a pen along and tears began to form in her eyes. Terry noticed and took off his cap. "Here you go," Terry said, and handed Tracy his hat.
Tracy looked at the hat and began to scream happily. Ness walked over to see what had happened. Tracy continued to scream until Ness put his hand over her mouth. She stopped and he removed the hand. "Tracy, what do you say to Mr. Bogard?" Ness said sternly. Tracy scratched her chin in thought. "Oh yeah! Thank you Mr. Bogard!"
"No problem. Enjoy the fights!" Terry walked off to a clearing and began to practice his techniques.
"This is great Ness!" Tracy yelled, "Now let's grab a seat for the fights! I wanna see Terry win!"
Ness obliged and they found a nice spot in the stands that had been set up. They waited for a few minutes until two of the teams that were fighting arrived and began to fight.
The first battle was between the Hero Team (Kyo Kusanagi, Benimaru Nikaido, and Goro Daimon) and the Psycho Soldier Team (Athena Asamiya, Sie Kensu, and Chin Gensai). The fight program Ness had bought showed the history of both of the teams, and it looked like the Hero Team had a more impressive record than the Psycho Soldiers.
The Heros were the winners of all of the previous tournaments since 1994. The leader of the team was Kyo Kusanagi, who had control over the power that was known as Orochi and could throw flames from his hands, he was the one that won all of the past tournaments for his team. Benimaru Nikaido was the second fighter. He was supposed to be very arrogant in battle, even though he usually loses despite his power over electricity. Daimon was the final, and oldest member of the Hero Team. He was the current Judo champion of the world, and could easily knock out some of the smaller opponents.
The fight program said that even if they lost this round, they would still continue on to the finals.
The Psycho Soldiers were a group of fighters that could use Psychic powers, with the exception of Chin Gensai. Their leader was a girl named Athena, who was the more powerful psychic in the team. Kensu was second, with powers that were only a little weaker than Athena's. Kensu also seemed to like Athena, but the feeling wasn't mutual. Chin Gensai was the elder of the group. Though not possesing any Psychic powers, his fighting style (suiken, an art that makes the opponent think the fighter is drunk) was very formidable.
The fight was about to begin when Chin fell on the floor and didn't get up. The other fighters rushed to his side, and Ness could overhear what they were saying. It seemed Chin had drank a bit too much before the fight and was asleep. Benimaru arrogantly said that they should be happy that they're going to be disqualified, since then they wouldn't have to fight him.
Tracy began to think. 'Maybe..' she thought, 'Yeah!' "Big broooother!" Tracy yelled, "Why don't you go fight? You have psychic powers too!" Ness began to laugh, but he realized that he could use the excercise and it would make Tracy happy.
Ness jumped off the stands and ran to Athena. "Hey," Ness said, "Do you need a new fighter? If you do, then I'd like to go at it." Athena looked Ness over. "Do you have any special powers?" She asked him. "Yep," Ness replied, and he shot a small PSI blast off into the sky. Athena smiled. "Great!" She said excitedly, "Now let's fight!"
The first round was Kensu vs. Daimon. Daimon immediately ran forward and attempted to grab Kensu, but he was too slow and Kensu jumped out of the way. "Hah," Kensu taunted, "You're too old for this pops!" Daimon responded with a low growl. Daimon made another dash just as Kensu was beginning to charge up a psychic blast. Daimon was able to securely grab Kensu just as the psychic blast was fired. They both went flying and Daimon landed on Kensu. The referee ran towards Kensu and Daimon and began to inspect them.
"Both of the fighters are knocked out," he announced, "Will the next fighters please enter."
Athena and Benimaru both ran on to the battle grounds as Kensu and Daimon were brought to the sidelines. "I think you should just give up now," Benimaru said with a smirk, "You won't last a second against me, and after you is that kid that I'll waste in a second." "You shouldn't be so confident in your abilities all the time!" Athena yelled, and with that she dashed forwards and slapped Benimaru in the face. "That's not fair!" Benimaru yelled angrily. Athena smiled and teleported away just as Benimaru threw a punch. Benimaru looked around for Athena, but she seemed to have left the match. "I guess this means that I'm the winner!" Benimaru yelled happily. "Look behind you!" Kyo yelled from the sidelines. Benimaru looked behind him to see Athena holding a giant flaming sword in the air. "Aw crap..."
Athena brought the sword down on Benimaru and fried him to a crisp. The referee ran up to Benimaru and inspected him. "Benimaru Nikaido has been knocked out!" he announced, "Kyo, please approach the stage!"
Kyo raised himself from his sitting position on the sidelines and entered. "You know," he said quietly to Athena, "I won't go eays on you just because we're friends." "I know." Athena responded, "I won't either!"
Kyo began to fight with a light kick to Athena's arm. Athena reeled back and did a dashing teleport past Kyo and shot a psychic charge into his back. Kyo turned around and fired an Orochi nagi at Athena, ending the fight.
The referee didn't bother to inspect Athena and proclaimed Kyo to be the winner. "Will the final fighter for the Psycho Soldiers please enter!"
Will Ness be able to withstand Kyo's Orochi flames? Will Kyo be able to contain the force of Ness's PSI? Will Tracy ever marry Terry Bogard? All this and more in the next chapter of KoF '9X
