MoonBound: Part 22

"Thanks Picky." Pippi said. "Hey there's something that I've been meaning to tell you." She added, taking his hands in hers.

"Go ahead." Picky replied. But before she could say anything, a loud sound pierced the air that seemed to slowly get deeper.

"The power is going out." Jeff whispered. He was right. Soon the bright lights flickered out, and the area was pitch black. No one could even see their hand on front of their face.

"Why is the power out?" Paula asked in a quavering voice. She would never admit it, but she had a bit of a fear of the dark.

"No use having power to a ship with no one in it." Pippi replied.

"I wouldn't be so sure about that." Picky said. Suddenly a small beam of light flipped on. It was Pippi holding a bright flashlight. She used her flashlight to look around. They were in a narrow hallway with cold metal walls. No doors were in sight, and the hall only went in one direction.

"Well, I guess we should go and see whats at the end of this hall." Jeff said. "Pippi, you have the light so you lead." The hallway was straight as an arrow, had no halls branching off from it, and no doors. It kept running in the same direction, and it seemed like it would go on forever.

"Whatever is at the end of this hall had better be important." Ness said. "I don't want to walk all this way for nothing."

"I promise it will be." Picky replied. Finally, after what seemed like forever, the walls of the hallway ended, and the party walked out into a giant room.

"I wonder where we are." Paula thought. She was soon answered. A few colored lights emitted from the center of the room, revealing the true nature of this newly entered place. It was a large dome, constructed with large metal panels and big bolts. It was hundreds of feet in diameter, and the opposite walls were too far away to see. Four small figures could be seen off towards the middle of the dome, three of them seemed to be the sources of the light. Picky took a step towards them, and everyone else followed. Their feet made loud clanking sounds that resonated throughout the dome. The four figures were steadily getting larger and clearer, and soon they had made it right up to them. The dark figure in the front was very familiar. It was their old friend Pokey in his Spider Mech. Behind him were three enormous swirling entities of blue, green, and yellow energy. They seemed to have faces, swirling with agony. Pokey seemed to be asleep, reclining in the seat in his Spider Mech. Pippi shot a energy engulfed rock from her Bionic Slingshot at Pokey's Spider Mech, and hit the glass of the cockpit. The rock bounced harmlessly aside, but it woke Pokey with a jolt. When he saw who was in front of him, he cracked wide, menacing grin.

"Why hello, friends." Pokey said in a smooth, but evil voice. "What brings you to my ship?"

"Don't be stupid, Pokey." Picky replied. "You know why we've come. We've come to destroy you."

"Ah, brother. I will excuse your ignorance and give you one more chance." Pokey said. "Won't you join me? Do you have any idea how much power, respect, and wealth you will have?"

Picky frowned and stared into his older brother's eyes. "Never," He said.

"Fool!" Pokey yelled. He lifted one of the legs of his Spider Mech and swung it fiercely at his brother. Picky dodged swiftly to the side and fired a blast of PK Beam Beta at the Spider Mech. It left a big black spot, but did no damage. "Grrr." Pokey said. "I think it's time you met my friends. Giygas's three greatest followers. I believe I have told you about them, Picky. Individually they cannot compare with what Giygas was, but I belive the three of them will be more than you bargained for. After you idiots are out of the way, there shall be no one stopping the Giygans and I from destroying this pitiful world!" Pokey said. The three energy masses behind Pokey seemed to hear what he had said, and they began moving. Soon they had formed a big wall in front of Pokey. "Now attack!" Pokey yelled. The three energy-bound foes screetched loudly in a terrifying battle cry. Every member of the party covered his or her ears. The three enemies soon stopped screeching and began to shoot waves of yellow, green, and red energy. Everyone in the party was hit, causing them to fall to the ground stunned. Picky soon got up onto his knees.

"Let's fight these guys in pairs!" he yelled. He and Jeff were directly in front of the rightmost foe, so they engaged him. Poo and Pippi were on the left so they fought the leftmost foe. Ness and Paula were stuck with the one in the middle.

"Alright, you shoot at him with your guns, and I'll try to get close enought to hit him with my yo-yo." Picky said, referring to the swirling yellow energy ball looming right in front of him. He pulled his Mysticant yo-yo from his pocket and charged his foe. He swung the yo-yo around as he began to get closer, but before he was in range, the energy being shot a blast of circular yellow energy. It hit Picky and knocked him to the ground. The yellow blast caused Picky's eyes to swell and tear up, temporarily blinding him. He got to his feet and stumbled back to where Jeff was standing. He wiped away his tears and soon the swelling went down.

"Let's not get to close to these guys yet." Jeff said. "We have plenty of long range attacks." He then began shooting Gaia Beams at their opponenet. They made small breaches in the ball of energy, and caused the foe to make a loud bellowing sound. It responded by releasing three yellow strips of energy that knocked Jeff down and pinned him to the ground. Picky tried to help his friend up, but it was no use. The strips of energy would not release him.

"Time to put an end to this guy. Picky said. He lifted both of his arms and began to concentrate. "PK Beam Gamma!" he yelled. Two large spiraling beams of energy flew from Picky's hands and hurtled straight at his yellow adversary. They connected and left two gaping holes in its swirling energy force. It was definately in bad shape now, and in no condition to retaliate against Picky. Picky saw this, wielded his yo-yo, and charged. When he got close, he lifted his yo-yo and swung it down, straight through the energy as hard as he could. The Mysticant yo-yo split the energy-bound foe in half. The energy began to dissipate, almost to nothing. Picky put his yo-yo back into his jeans pocket, walked over to Jeff. The energy strips had disappeared, and Jeff was up on his feet.

"Here goes my last one." Pippi mutterd as she pulled her last Multi Bottle Rocket from her pack. The metal floor would not allow her to stick it in the ground, so she held it up at an angle and lit the fuse. Right before it flew off, Pippi let go. The rocket lifted off the ground and flew towards the Red-colored enemy. When it hit the energy mass, it exploded with a boom. Brilliant yellow, orange, and red sparks flew from the explosion, and for a few seconds, Pippi and Poo thought that they had won. When the sparks had cleared, the red energy being was still there, looking as towering and as menacing as ever. It seemed to be unhurt.

"Crap I though I had him" Pippi thought. Just then, Poo pulled his glimmering Sowrd of Kings from its sheith on his back. He kneeled down on one knee and put his sword at his feet. He folded his hands and said a prayer over his sword. He then lifted his sword and stood to his feet. He screamed a loud Dalameese battle cry and began to run at his opponenet. When he got close enough, he jumped up into the air and began to slash his sword down. but before he made contact with the energy being, his sword clashed against a clear forcefield. Poo fell to the ground, and his sword clashed against the metal ground a few feet away.

"So it has a shield." Poo muttered as he picked his sword up. But no shield would stop Poo. Not for long at least. Poo lifted his sword and began slashing. Poo's attacks were relentless, but the shield stood strong. It was quite a while before the shield had taken enough hits to be broken. With one last swift slash, the shield shattered like broken glass. Poo was out of breath. The red swirling opponenet exploited Poo's state and shot a blast of red, burning energy at Poo. It hit Poo, and sent him flying back about ten feet. When he landed, his hair and clothes were singed, and he had small red burn marks all over his skin.

"I got your back!" Pippi yelled. She ran in front of Poo and began to shoot small energy-engulfed volleys from her Bionic Slingshot. Each hit made a small hole in the evil red enemy. The foe bellowed and began to gather energy. The energy began to swirl faster, and soon began to form a big red hunk of energy right in the middle of its being. It released all of its excess energy in one big red blast, much like the one it had shot at Poo, but much bigger. Pippi saw the twenty foot blast of energy, began shaking and dropped her slingshot. She then released a high pitch scream and began running away. Poo stood up and grabbed Pippi's shoulder as she passed. Pippi stopped. Poo's firm grip comforted her and made her feel as if everything would be alright. Poo lifted his injured arms up into the air.

"Starstorm Omega!" he yelled. A rain of shining stars came out of nowhere and flew swiftly towards the oncoming blast of red energy. When they hit the blast, the red energy dissipated, but the stars continued towards the red swirling energy being. When they hit it, it released a bloodcurtling scream. The stars passed through the energy ball like a hot knife through butter. When all of the stars had passed through and disappeared, the red energy being had almost entirely dissipated into nothing. Another foe had been vanquished.

"Let's take this guy out." Ness said to Paula. He pulled his Gutsy Bat from its holder on his back. He began running at his large, swirling green foe. When he got about half way there, it shot a small green ball of energy at him. Ness stopped, reared back and hit the energy right back. The green foe bellowed as he was hit with a taste of his own medicine. Ness continued his charge. When he got into striking range, Ness reared his bat back again, and was about to swing when the green monster released another blast of energy, this time much bigger. It caught Ness by surprise, connected with his torso and knocked him to the ground. "Ow!" Ness exclaimed as he slowly got to his feet. "That wasn't very nice." He said as he lifted his bat up again and swung with all his might. He hit the energy being squarely, but it was like hitting a twenty foot basket ball. Ness's bat bounced back, and only moved the enemy back a few feet. The green foe shot a bigger blast of slow moving energy.

"I'm coming, Ness!" Paula yelled. She ran up beside where Ness was standing, pulling her Holy Frying Pan out on her way. She put the frying pan out in front of her, firmly holding it with both hands. When the slow moving blast hit the shiny surface of the pan, it mirrored off and headed right back at the green swirling alien. The blast eventually found its mark, and caused the mass of energy to bellow loudly, like a large wounded animal. It seemed to be significantly injured. Ness and Paula looked at each other and nodded, as if they knew what each other was thinking.

"PSI Rockin Omega!" Ness yelled. Ness heard a guitar wailing in the back of his mind, and he knew it was time. His body began to glow. He then took a deep breath and released brilliant waves of multi-colored energy from his body. The attack flew towards the green swirling foe like thousands of shining knives.

"PSI Freeze Omega!" Paula screamed. A cold wind swirled around Paula. Blue energy began to form around her hands. With a last push, hundreds of ice chunks hurtled from Paula's hands just as Ness's PSI Rockin engulfed the enemy. The ice blasts connected with the green foe just as the PSI Rockin dissipated. The chunks surrounded the foe. A last loud scream was heard. The blue icy mist subsided. All that was left behind it was a thin green mist.

Pippi pulled back her Bionic Slingshot and shot a swift energy-bound projectile at Pokey's Spider Mech. Pokey obviously had great confidence in his minions and had fallen asleep. A loud clang woke Pokey. He sat up in the seat inside his Spider Mech. Much to his surprise, Ness, Paula, Pippi, Jeff, Picky, and Poo were still standing. Weakened and battered, but standing.

"I see I've underestimated you....again...." Pokey said in his normal evil voice. "You have defeated my companions...but they are not gone...their presence still haunts this place...." He continued, looking as if in deep thought. "Join with me, my minions!" He suddenly shouted. The thin colored misty reamins of the strange Giygas-like foes began swirling around the room. All at once, they flew high up into the air, and condensed above Pokey. The swirling mass of multi-colored energy then plummeted towards the floor. A bright light flashed when they crashed into Pokey's Spider Mech. When the light subsided, Pokey had an ear to ear grin on his face. His hair stood straight up as if he had just been electricuted. A strange energy force surrounded his Spider Mech.

"Whew that felt good!" Pokey exclaimed. "I've never felt this energized in my life! No one can beat me now!" He said, followed by a sinister laugh.

"We'll see about that." Ness said. He wielded his bat and charged Pokey. Before he could get close enough to swing, he was stopped in his tracks. The strange energy field wouldn't even let him close enough to make contact.

"Fool." Pokey said. He raised one of the arms of his Spider Mech and slapped Ness across the face. Ness slid across the floor all the way back to where his friends were waiting. Paula immediately bent downand began to tend his wounds.

"This may very well be my end." Poo muttered as he pulled his sword from its sheath. He charged Pokey just like Ness had. Pokey didn't seem worried at all. He didn't even seem to notice Poo at all. Poo approached the energy field, and clashed his sword against the forcefield as hard as he could. Much to Poo's horror, his sword broke into two large pieces. "NO!" Poo screamed. He knealt down, picked up the shards of his Sword of Kings and mourned over them. Pokey took advantage of Poo's position, and hit him hard in the stomach with an arm of his Spider Mech. Poo gasped and flew through the air back to where his friends were. He landed on the hard metal ground with a thud. Pippi began rapidly firing her Bionic Slingshot, but the projectiles bounced harmlessly off the forcefield. Poo lifted his battered body off the ground.

"Starstorm Omega!" He screamed. It was a rash move, but Poo was furious with Pokey over the loss of his sword. Tons of brilliantly shining stars of all shapes and sizes fell from the heavens. They all careened towards Pokey. Pokey's grin widened. Sure enough, all of the stars bounced off the forcefield right back at our heroes! Everyone ducked and covered themselves. It would have been the end if it weren't for Paula, who kept her head through the ordeal. She used a PSI Shield Delta, which absorbed every deadly star.

"This is getting boring." Pokey said. "You guys obviously aren't going to beat me any time soon. So I think I'll end this now." He said, grinning. "I think Picky will appreciate this one." He closed his eyes and took a deep breath. "PK Beam Omega!" he yelled.

"NO!!!" Picky screamed, knowing the devastation cause by his own attack. Pokey's body began to glow yellow. He opened his menacing eyes, and looked out at his adversaries.

"This is the end." He bellowed as he forced his gathered energy out through the Spider Mech. An enormous wall of Beam energy formed outside of the Mech, and began traveling at a surprisingly fast speed towards the group of heroes.

"I can't let this happen." Picky thought as he began to run towards Pokey's destructive blast. "I have to save my friends." He thought as he stopped right in front of the energy wall and put his arms out. "I have to save the world!" He yelled as he placed his hands on the blast and began pushing it back at Pokey.

"No way!" Pokey yelled as he saw his blast start coming right back at him. "But no matter." He said as he raised two arms on his Spider Mech to meet it. Pushed by Picky, the blast passed right back through the forcefield and clashed with the arms of Pokey's Spider mech. Both combatants pushed with all of their might, and neither seemed to be gaining an inch.

"Run!" Picky suddenly yelled between breaths.

"No way, we would never leave you behind!" Pippi replied.

"Run! Get away!" Picky yelled again. They still wouldn't listen. Picky's strength was failing. He knew he had to act. "PK Beam Omega!" He yelled. his body was surrounded by a yellow aura.

"Don't do it! You'll kill us both!" Pokey screamed.

"That's the idea." Picky said as he pushed all of the excess energy out of his body. His energy wall clashing into Pokey's created a blinding flash of yellow light that filled the entire dome. Picky's friends finally heeded his words and began running out. The ship rumbled. The dome was coming down. As the flash subsisded, Picky's friends looked backwards at the battlefield. To their horror, there was nothing. No Picky, no Pokey, no Spider Mech. They continued running towards the dome exit, looking backwards the whole time, hoping to see their friend re-appear.

* * *

Well, Picky, it looks like you got your head handed to you.

But don't despair, for your death was not in vain.

Your sacrifice saved the lives of your friends, and the lives of everyone on the earth.

And they won't forget about you Picky.

For the legend of Picky Minch; The Unlikely Hero will live on in the hearts of men for all time.

Author's note: If you're reading this, that means you read the entire fanfic!!...which means you deserve to be payed for your endeavor. Or something. Well, I hope people like this for what it is. Or maybe they'll hate it for what its not. Whatever. But curse my bad typing skills! If I could type, this would have been done a long time ago (see Chapter 21: 'MonBound: Part 21' Oh yea Jamaican style baby!) Yea, I know this fanfic is really cheesy, and some things are really stupid in it. Some characters dont even have a reason to be in it (see: Pippi) And didn't you just love some of those lame reasons that they ended up places, and did things? Also I think its missing alot of things, such as internal struggles, and quality. I tried to put funny dialogue and situation and stuff in it. That kind of failed. Oh well. And while I'm rambling, I would like to thank all of the people that encouraged me while I was doing this. And SimonBob for updating every week. I'll shut up now. I hope you had as much fun reading it as I had writing it.
