What If?

Time Travel is something
Most people dismiss
But something we've witnessed
Twice in our lifetime

Once when Buzz-Buzz
Came forth from the future
Then a second time
When Giygas withdrew to the past

It's so very real
It's not a myth

We know that for a fact

We saved the future
Through our actions today
But I wonder
What will happen next?

Someday will those alterations
Have some adverse effects?
Problems beyond repair?

Like...What if time changed
And something was a little different
Not terribly different
But just a little

What if, on our quest
All our genders were reversed?
What if that little legend
Told about three girls
And a boy?
Through some cosmic roll of dice
Would that have deterred our quest?

What if, on our quest
Buzz-Buzz had stayed alive?
Would his knowledge have lead us
To an early defeat
Of the cosmic destroyer?
Or would we be the target
Of a disgruntled fate
Who's deck had been shuffled?

What if, on our quest
The zombies were friendly?
Maybe there would have been
A rebellion of sorts,
Against the monstrous Belch
Maybe a Zombie would've joined us
Might have been a friend
Maybe at our journey's end
Those who had no soul to pray with
Would clasp their hands in prayer

What if, on our quest
Ness was never born?
Would our prayers
Still have been enough
To topple the boundless evil?
Would we have been strong enough
To trek through many lands and times?
Would I be alone forever
In a land without love?

What if, at our quest's end
We had never asked this question?
Would anything important
Happen as a result?
Or would we merely go on
Without so much worry
So much worry and anxiety?

I propose we needn't worry
About what could have been
And merely what is...
Yet my mind still wonders...
What if..
