Ghost Town by PSI322 Part Three: Paula's Tale Not long before then Paula had walked out the door An Egyptian princess Was the costume that she wore In the night her jewelry glistened Often, gold behaves that way Her dress, laden with pretty jewels, Touched the ground as she walked away Home wasn't far from Burglin Park Her journey there would not be long But still the darkness frightened her As did the night wind's haunting song She turned the corner, still afraid The town was empty, or so it seemed And in the dark, an owl appeared In the night, its yellow eyes gleamed She reached the old gate at the Park Hopping the fence, she walked inside Wishing there was someone there To hold her hand, to be her guide She stepped into the Park alone The trees cast shadows on the earth Paula wondered if the candy Would justify this journey's worth Someone else should have been there Her friends had promised there to meet She was alone, there was no doubt It'd be a while before trick-or-treat Paula shivered by her lonesome Her eyes then widened in her fright There were no friends, but she could see Three shadows standing in the night
