They saw before them the opening

To the pyramid's first chamber.

Jeff began to hesitate.

Ness shouts, "Don't be a lamer"

They marched through the age-old door.


But even Ness was pretty freaked,

The halls lay eerily calm.

All the group began to wish

They each had brought their mom.

As they marched though door and door.


Then Jeff shouts "Stop! Guys, look at this!"

"These hieroglyphs?so weird."

"If you look at all those hieroglyphs,"

"When you're done I'll have a beard"

But Ness was really quite excited by the markings on the floor.


"What do you think they all mean?"

"This one looks like a snake!"

"And this one seems", Paula observed,

"He's got a cold he just can't take!"

Then they marched on; but watched the floor.


Again, Jeff shouts! Ness: "What's wrong now!"

"I'm sure I felt a move?"

"My senses are supreme!" boasts Poo.

"If you did I'd know. Let's groove!"

Jeff knew he saw it move some more.


Then Paula shrieked! Ness whipped around -

And was filled with striking fear.

A hieroglyphic snake-like beast

Had latched itself to Paula's ear.

And there were others; four.


A jackal head, a buff stout bod,

A face as pale as snow.

Another creature left the wall,

Another vicious foe.

There were ten and maybe more.


Jeff fired beams to no avail

They passed through empty air.

Then a bolt of lighting stuck,

Too much for Jeff to bear.

He was down upon the floor.


Poo swung forth with mighty sword,

And to everyone's surprise?

The man-dog and some snakes as well

Were cut down to tiny size.

Joining Jeff upon the floor.


After blades and PSI,

The villains were no more.

Three heroes sadly walked away,

In midst of death and gore.

They no longer numbered four.


While paying no attention

They had reached the final door.

But before them lay a casket

Of twelve feet or maybe more.

Then it had an open door.


The owner was a massive beast

A shattered man of stone.

With blanked eyes and yellow brick

And fists to crush all bone.

They'd beat this to pass the door.


Ness fired PK Special

Paula launched a gust of flame.

Poo thought as he launched psychic stars,

"We don't need Jeff! He's just lame".

The power struck the villain's core.


The man rumbled and exploded,

The shrapnel flew around.

A piece nicked Ness and blasted Poo

Who fell upon the ground.

Now another loss from four.


They stepped into the final room,

And the two were quite surprised.

The room was plenty empty.

The just stared with open eyes.

Then they saw it, on the floor.


Ness stepped upon the tile,

And they headed back upstairs.

But the passageway had been obscured

By enemies in pairs.

There were thirty, likely more.


Each of them fought bravely,

Launching PSI assaults,

And Paula even swung her pan

While launching lightning bolts.

The two were getting sore.


Jackals fell and so did snakes.

And a shattered man or two.

But when the royal guards attacked,

There was nothing they could do.

In the pyramid of lore.


Paula screamed as Ness was smacked,

But soon she too was nailed.

While battling with life and death,

They knew their quest had failed.

But they had something else in store.


The world went completely dark

But they both knew they hadn't died.

I had a couple 'tater chips,

And munched a couple fries.

Then once I was all ready,

I thought I'd give it two more tries.

Then I'd try a couple more.


Ness awoke in the hotel,

Just as good as new.

He felt confused, he looked around.

He was feeling déjà vu.

He sat upon the floor.


"Come on Ness! It's time to go!"

Jeff shouted in his ear.

"We must explore the pyramid!"

"C'mon! Some time this year!"

Then they were at the giant door.
